Job Purpose
The Unit Lead is responsible for leading the daily operational and administrative functions of the unit including department policy/business process management, process improvement management and organizational/resource management. This position will also lead new mode Development and Procurement of SxS, ATV and MC accessories.
Key Accountabilities
- Directs the overall project/work schedules for all assigned functions. Follow-up with technical and project managers to balance priorities and ensure that projects and programs are on track. Negotiates activities with other Teams to manage development activities across functions. Supports Dept Lead in development methodologies, manage partnerships with other divisions/Honda companies, vendors and suppliers.
- Establish and manage all aspects of Accessory development methodology. Responsible for working with Planning to establish 2 Wheel & 4 Wheel Accy L/U for model Development and leading development activities across all related internal/external stakeholders to achieve development objectives, cost and schedule
- Establish and manage all aspects of Accessory purchasing activities. Responsible for managing purchasing systems & tracking, managing quotations, supplier selection, production tool approval and first article approval
- Manage the daily activities of Team members engaged in the coordination/implementation of all initiatives, including operations, prioritizing assignments, monitoring/evaluating work progress, providing mentoring/back-up as needed, addressing performance /associate relations issues and managing activities including performance reviews, reviewing and approving time sheets and time off requests.
- Collaborates with Dept Lead to develop, plan and implement strategic direction for the Team including defining department budget/staffing needs and selection and assessment criteria, actively participating in the hiring process and creating/maintaining operational policies/procedures.
Qualifications, Experience, and Skills
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent in related field
- 8+ Years related work experience preferably in Power Sports or Automotive field
- Knowledge of department operation, policies and practices
- Strong leadership, coaching and mentoring skills
- Strong interpersonal, communication and presentation skills
- Strong conflict resolution skills
- Ability to interact/communicate effectively with staff/management
- Strong problem solving, judgment, decision-making skills
- Excellent time management skills
- Must be able to operate with high level of confidentiality
