The Ulster BOCES Academic Summer School is seeking energetic instructional leaders for our Middle and High School programs. Must have excellent interpersonal and planning skills. Possible locations may include: Kingston, New Paltz and Rondout Valley. Must possess a valid NYS SAS or SDA Certification. Fingerprinting Required.
COMPENSATION:
Hourly rate: $75.00
This is a non-benefited position.
WORK SCHEDULE:
The coordination schedule varies and will run through August 2024. Some evening hours may be required. The school program runs 4 days per week between July and August, Monday to Thursday, from 7:30 am - 12:30 pm. Full Commitment to the entirety of the program is necessary including Regents days. This position supervises multiple sites in Ulster County school districts.
SPECIFIC DUTIES:
1. Designs promotional materials for staff recruiting noting particular academic and programmatic area needs.
2. Conducts interviews with applicants for principal positions and prioritizes applicant pool for principal(s), assistant principal/dean(s).
3. Facilitates planning sessions with participating district representatives and principals.
4. Develops student registration, attendance and reporting procedures, which include the Student Information System that will produce class lists, attendance letters, grades, reports, etc.
5. Oversees student registration and grade reporting and ensures copies of the information are kept on file. Produces participating district reports on enrollment, course completion, passing and tests.
6. Interviews all prospective teaching and support staff with Summer School principal(s).
7. Plans for Summer School staff orientation in May and June and curricular work sessions during Summer School period.
8. Coordinates with districts to gather pertinent performance and test data on students, so that it is useful to teachers.
9. Prepares all applications and reports for SEO and ensures their timely submission.
10. Establishes the Summer School program office(s).
11. Conducts pre and post program building inspection of leased sites with key district representative(s).
12. Arranges student schedule(s) and prepares information for districts on course offerings based on enrollment.
13. Manages Regents registration, administration and reporting to districts.
14. Prepares final reports for Deputy Superintendent.
15. Performs other duties as assigned by the Immediate Supervisor or Designee.
