Job Title: Academic Learning Support Assistant

Department: School

Job Category: Faculty – Full time

FLSA Status: Non-exempt (Flexible Schedule available; must be consistent)

Salary: $17 - $20/hour

Hours: 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. (Program driven)

Reports to: School Principal (Chief Academic Officer)

Job Summary:

The Academic Learning Support Clerk will assist in administrative and general office tasks related to student support and student academic intervention (SAI).

Education/Experience Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Proficient working knowledge and functioning skills in learning differences/disabilities are strongly preferred.
  • Excellent computer skills and knowledge of Google platforms and Microsoft Office suite
  • Ability to interact with students demonstrating supportive and approachable demeanor as outlined in HR Core Values.

Duties/Responsibilities:

Administrative Support

Documentation: Prepare and process various documents related to student support services including Region 10 annual reporting, inventory, administrative agreements, student requests for Title funding, low-income reporting, and student eligibility reporting. Retrieving, submitting, documenting, scheduling, and reporting educational evaluation data to various service providers, educators, agencies, and families. Types reports for students’ academic intervention plans for classroom instructional accommodations.

Record Maintenance: Keep accurate records of student progress, scorecard data, and attendance. Maintain SAI evaluation reports, accommodation reporting, and specific needs. Track updates to accommodations, and input and upload student data in FACTS, the schools’ communication system. Prepare accommodation records for requested providers and testing agencies.

Correspondence: Handle communication related to Learning Support, including emails, assessment forms, and letters. Compile, maintain, and file all physical and computerized reports, records, and other required documents.

Classroom/Literacy Library Assistance

Materials Preparation: Assist SSS Team members in preparing materials for student academic intervention lessons and activities and extended academic support in the summer and weekends, as determined.

Resource Distribution: Assist in distributing learning materials to students, families, and faculty.

Learning Support/Landin Literacy Library Organization: Help maintain an organized and conducive learning environment. Reserve space in the Landin Literacy Library for student support services activities.

  • Smooth Administrative Processes: Effective handling of documentation and communication.
  • Positive Experience Working Relationships with all stakeholders: Students feel supported and informed.
  • Excellent/clear communication with students, families, and employees
  • Strong attention to detail with accurate record-keeping abilities

Other Functions & Desired Skills and Abilities

  • Organizational Skills: Ability to manage paperwork efficiently and accurately.
  • Proficient in keyboarding/typing skills, Microsoft Office, Google platforms, and video conferencing systems (TEAMS, Google, Zoom, and video screening)
  • Attention to Detail: Ensure accuracy in record-keeping.
  • Performs other related duties, as assigned, for the purpose of ensuring the efficient and effective functioning of the school.

Work Environment and Physical Demands

  • Normal physical activity including some bending, pushing, pulling, and lifting and carrying, which may range up to 35 lbs. upon occasion.
  • Willing ability to work during summer months as scheduled
