Bunker Hill Community College (BHCC) is a multi-campus institution with vibrant, urban campuses in Boston, Massachusetts, in nearby Chelsea, Massachusetts, and at several satellites and instructional sites throughout the Greater Boston area. The largest of the 15 community colleges in Massachusetts, BHCC serves some 18,000 students annually, focusing on holistic student services to ensure student retention and persistence. The College offers certificates and associate degrees, early college and dual enrollment, non-credit community and corporate training, and industry-specific training programs. Job Description:


  • Maintain relationships with existing CBI partnerships with transitional pathways to enroll new students and connect continuing students to college supports each semester.
  • Manage HiSET program at Pao Arts Center, including supporting the HiSET Instructor, student recruitment, registration, and student transition to college classes.
  • Provide first-level advising for students in partner programs; work collaboratively with college advising to facilitate seamless navigation for partner students.
  • Connect participating students to college academic support services.
  • Coordinate administration of student placement assessments as needed.
  • Travel to partner sites to provide academic and administrative support to pathway students.
  • Collect and review student data, maintain student and partnership database, keep student records updated regularly. Review student enrollment across partnerships.
  • Assist with event coordination related to advising, information sessions, financial aid, and college tours/visits.
  • Assist Director with coordination of Community Partnership budget.
  • Collaborate with Counseling, Prevention and Wellness Center, Single Stop, Health and Wellness Center and other College services to support non-academic needs of students.
  • Collaborate with College Transition Program staff on Summer Transition Program to identify and recruit students into the program as applicable.
  • Coordinate regular partnership meetings with partner sites.
  • Assist Community Based Initiatives Director with course scheduling each semester for partner sites and cohorts.
  • Collaborate with Admissions, LifeMap, Financial Aid and other BHCC departments to create and maintain processes for partnerships.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.


Requirements:


  • Master's degree and five years of full-time experience in academic advising, academic placement, counseling, career development or program/project management or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
  • Demonstrated experience in academic advisement, student services and/or career development.
  • Familiarity with online tools such as WebEx, Zoom, and learning management systems.
  • Excellent organizational, interpersonal, verbal, written communication, and presentation skills.
  • Must be a team player/leader, and place a high priority on creative outreach and building relationships.
  • Demonstrated experience successfully managing programs with deadline dependent tasks.
  • Demonstrated experience in understanding, interpreting, and applying systemic change from quantitative and qualitative data collection.
  • Demonstrated attention to detail and ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proven ability to work with a diverse, faculty, staff, and student population.

Preferred Requirements:


  • Experience managing and supervising staff/students.
  • Experience working with underrepresented groups.
  • Experience in nonprofit, community college and/or community-based organizations.
  • Bilingual-English and (Spanish | Chinese--Cantonese, Mandarin, Taishanese | Haitian Creole | Cape Verdean Creole | Vietnamese | Portuguese | French | Arabic | Somali).


Additional Information:


Salary Range: $69,027.00-$70,120.00 Actual Salary Will Be Commensurate With Education and Experience in Accordance with MCCC/MTA Collective Bargaining Agreement. Full state Benefits.


Grade: 6, Unit-Professional position
