Academic Coach
THE ENVIRONMENT:
1. Creates an environment of trust and respect
2. Establishes a culture for ongoing instructional improvement
3. Establishes clear procedures for teachers to gain access to instructional support

5. Organizes physical space for workshops or trainings
DELIVERY OF SERVICE:
1. Collaborates with teachers in the design and planning of instructional units and lessons
2. Engages teachers in learning new instructional skills
3. Observes and provides relevant feedback to teachers
4. Provides side-by-side coaching in a classroom setting
5. Shares expertise with staff e.g., through teaching model lessons, presenting workshops, and facilitating study groups
6. Locates resources for teachers to support instructional improvement
7. Demonstrates flexibility and responsiveness
8. Designs and delivers coherent instruction
9. Collect baseline test data for the school district
10. Assist school with analyzing summative school data and plan for improvement using strengths and weaknesses identified
11. Assist teachers and administrators with using formative assessment data
12. Identify students that have been retained one or more times
13. Encourage, coach, and monitor data driven instruction
14. Identify feasible best practices to increase data driven instruction for teachers
15. Meet and plan with teachers to promote data driven instruction
16. Attend professional development conferences and workshops
17. Work with district supervisors and school improvement teams to assist in accomplishing goals and objectives
18. Directs and manages the district-wide testing program for all students
19. Analyzes system and school level achievement data
20. Prepares detailed reports and communicates to school officials
21. Ensures compliance with all state and federal guidelines and district policies as they relate to testing and assessment
22. Administer and/or support the state and federal guidelines and district policies as they relate to testing and assessment
23. Meet and plan with teachers to promote data driven instruction
