Position Summary
Supports all efforts and service provided by the Academic Center for Excellence (ACE) in providing academic advising, registration, transcript evaluation, coaching, and other service and information for students.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Contribute to the Academic Center for Excellence (ACE) team in providing student success services
- Assist new students in the transition of beginning studies at USF, support new student orientations, provide a bridge to academic programs
- Offer academic advising and registration service to students independent of or in collaboration with faculty advisors
- Provide transcript analysis at the pre-admission, admission and initial enrollment stages
- Serve as an ombudsman to all students for issues concerning academic advising and registration and student support services
- Assist the Academic Resource Center in providing academic coaching to students as appropriate
- Assist the Office of Disability Services as appropriate
- Participate in and promote a culture of continuing quality improvement
- Other related duties as assigned
Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor's degree
- Two years of professional experience in higher education, in one of the following roles: academic advising, registrar/transcript analysis, teaching, admissions, or other related administrative experience
- Commitment to serving students
- Demonstrated ability for attention to detail and accuracy
- Organizational, interpersonal, communication and computer literacy skills
- Willingness to work flexible schedule as necessary
- Professional work ethic that supports the goals of the Academic Center for Excellence
- Ability to perform the physical requirements of the position
- Willingness to support the Catholic and Franciscan values of the university
Preferred Requirements
Hours/Shift/Work Schedule
Hours/Shift/Work Schedule: Traditional Office hours, Monday - Friday, evening and weekend work as required, especially during registration periods
Physical Requirements of Position
Work is performed in an office setting with minimal exposure to health or safety hazards. Substantial time is spent working on a computer. This is sedentary work which requires the following physical activities: sitting, walking, bending, stooping, finger dexterity, repetitive motions, talking, hearing and visual acuity.
