Position Summary:

Florida Atlantic University is seeking an Academic Advisor III - Boca Raton, FL.
The Academic Advisor III is responsible for providing general academic advising, supporting student success, and monitoring academic plans to ensure degree progress and timely graduation.
Summary of responsibilities include:
  • Provides academic advising support to undergraduate programs in the College of Engineering & Computer Science.
  • Assists undergraduate students with term-by-term course selection and development of long term plans of study.
  • Assists incoming transfer students with determining course equivalencies and course registration.
  • Serves as liaison to Department Chair(s) & faculty on course scheduling & curriculum changes.
  • Maintains accurate records related to timely graduation per cohort.
  • Is familiar with degree requirements and performs graduation certification.
  • Participates in College and University efforts to conduct/support recruitment and outreach activities.
  • Maintains databases of current/prospective students.
  • Participates in various College initiatives to support student success & retention such as the Women in Engineering & Computer Science (WIECS) program.
  • Maintains close communication with supervisor and colleagues.
  • Complete critical forms such as financial aid documents, NCAA forms, international regulations, etc.
  • Provides information about educational opportunities (Internships, Graduate Studies, Honors Programs, etc.) and special services as per students' specific needs.
  • Assists in connecting students experiencing academic difficulty to the appropriate campus resources.
  • Attends and participates in staff meetings, professional development seminars, and other student support-related meetings.
  • Provide cross-training to academic staff, as necessary.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:
A master's degree from an accredited institution in an appropriate area of specialization and five years of appropriate experience required.
Salary:
$51,000 - $52,500 per year.

Monday-Friday from 8 am - 5pm.
Eligible for flex scheduling at the discretion of the supervisor.
