Nursing Administrator Program Director is a full-time, exempt faculty position with excellent benefits.

UNIVERSITY MISSION: To educate Christians who will make a difference in the world for Jesus Christ.

LOCATION: Corban University’s 200+ acre campus is situated on a hillside forest setting overlooking the Willamette Valley, just minutes from the heart of Salem, Oregon’s capital city. The rugged coast awaits only an hour’s drive to the west. To the east is the mountainous Cascade Range. Portland, the state’s largest city, is less than an hour away and is home to cultural museums, parks, shopping, and restaurants.

SUMMARY: The Nursing Program Director is responsible for directing the activities and operations of the Nursing program. These responsibilities include, but are not limited to: planning, scheduling, staffing, curriculum, instruction, program quality, interaction with the Oregon Board of Nursing, and eventually interacting with a National Nursing Program Accreditor.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Serve as the Director of Corban University’s Nursing program.
  • Work with internal and external constituencies to create and launch a Nursing program for Corban University at the BSN and other levels.
  • Work with the Dean of Arts and Sciences and the chair of Math and Science to engage in the hiring of faculty and staff needed to maintain a Nursing program.
  • Maintain a working relationship with the Oregon Board of Nursing and stay current on State of Oregon requirements for Oregon Nursing programs.
  • Develop a working relationship with a National Nursing Accreditor with the goal of securing accreditation as soon as possible.
  • Engage local health care providers for support of Corban’s Nursing program.
  • Be an agent of change on the Corban campus and in the fast paced, ever-changing world of Nursing education.

  • Ability to manage and lead a diverse workforce.

QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:

  • Doctorate in an appropriate field of study.
  • Registered Nurse with appropriate licensures in the state of Oregon.
  • Demonstrated understanding of licensure and accreditation standards for Nursing programs.
  • Have a minimum of five (5) years' experience as an academic administrator (such as nursing Program Director, assistant director, or department chair) with validated performance of administrative responsibilities consistent with having the authority and responsibility to coordinate and direct all activities in developing, implementing, and managing an academic nursing program, including its fiscal planning.
  • Have a minimum of seven (7) years' experience teaching in pre-or post-licensure registered nursing program(s).
  • Have five (5) year's continuous, full-time or its equivalent experience in direct patient care as a Registered Nurse, as determined by the State Nursing Board.
  • Hold and maintain an active, unencumbered Oregon state license as a Registered Nurse by the date of hire.
  • Current knowledge of nursing practice at associate, bachelor's, master's, and doctoral degree program level.
