Hourly rate for Process Technician position: $21.00- $25.00 per hour depending on experience.
ABOUT THE JOB
Vergent Products is seeking a full-time Process Technician for First Shift (M-F: 3:00pm - 11:45pm) to support on the manufacturing floor in the machine centers by using established processes and product. You will work with process engineering to maintain and improve processes as well as reduce dependence on New Product Introduction (NPI) and Process engineering personnel by acting as initial point of contact for issues related to parts and machines for existing product. As a key team member, you will work with planning/ materials regarding schedule to ensure processes and programs are in place for the efficiency of upcoming product.
As the Process Technician you will:
- Production support for all processes and equipment in the machine center. The first line of defense supported by Process Development/NPI as needed.
- P&P program maintenance and active alternate for P&P program creation.
- AOI program creation and ongoing maintenance of AOI programs.
- Reflow profile (selection and maintenance of existing profiles for a given product). New profile development is still Process Development responsibility.
- Assist with ongoing development of work instructions, process flow, and implementation of best practices.
- Assist with development of autonomous maintenance aimed at reducing process interruptions.
- Selective Solder program creation and maintenance.
- Trains and direct others to carry out established processes.
- Performs 2nd order root cause defect/ failure analysis.
- Monitors and maintains programs and recipes for best quality and efficiency.
- Evaluates alternative processes, tools and equipment for manufacturing and makes recommendations to improve production procedures.
- Using established methods, monitors key performance indicators (KPI), identifies process indicators trending out of control then proactively acts to restore process conditions to prevent defects.
- Monitors yields (KPR) and reports actual and potential quality issues for corrective/ preventative action. Identifies root cause of failures and assists with corrective then preventative action implementation.
- Implement recommendations to improve quality, increase productivity, manufacturability, or reduce cost.
Requirements
- AAS or equivalent experience in manufacturing, electronics or electro-mechanic discipline.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Ability to work in teams
- Demonstrated success in process improvements.
- Working knowledge of electronics product assembly (PCBA and/or product level) and general manufacturing techniques.
- Detail oriented.
