2nd shift Compounder
Duties and Responsibilities:
Directly reports to the Production Manager/Production Supervisor for assignments, direction, and assistance. Deals regularly with other compounders and warehouse personnel. Occasionally interfaces with QC, Sample Lab, and Maintenance and Rabbinical Services.
Essential Functions:
• Perform daily activities and interactions necessary to complete each compound including the use of automation units.
• Accurate weighing of ingredients, machine operations, mixing and blending of materials, proper labeling and documentation; all of which are equally important in producing quality products.
• Perform work safely and efficiently, wearing appropriate PPE equipment. Follow odor/dust environmental control procedures.
• Maintains self, equipment, and working area in a clean and orderly manner, following good manufacturing practices.
• Ensures proper documentation of production sheets, turning in samples and paperwork when complete, paying special attention to SAP/Shop Floor Control documentation.
• Supports TPM efforts and food safety standards e.g. SQF; participates in meetings, offering ideas to increase productivity and safety.
• Responsible for informing the Group Leader or Production Supervisor of food safety problems.
Qualifications
Knowledge and Experience Requirements:
• High school graduate or equivalent preferred.
• Minimum of one year experience in flavor, pharmaceutical or fragrance manufacturing. Mechanical aptitude to operate process equipment and understand principles of operation.
Skills & Abilities:
• Ability to operate freely within scope of responsibility, with supervision, to complete fragrance compounds and jobs relating to their completion.
• Must possess good problem solving and critical thinking skills.
• Good verbal communication skills essential for resolution of problems.
Safety/Regulatory Training Requirements:
• Forklift training (certification)
• Hazmat training
• SAP/Shop Floor Control
