Job description

NOTE: This position is for the 2024-2025 school year. The salary will be based on the 2024-2025 salary schedule which is not yet approved by the Board of Education. The salary listed is based on the current year's salary schedule.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Required:
  1. Missouri Teacher Certification
  2. Experience in implementing effective instructional practices

Preferred:
  1. Master's degree or higher
  2. Experience with teacher training

REPORTS TO:
Director of Curriculum and Instruction
JOB GOAL:
To facilitate increased student achievement by providing on-site professional development,
modeling/coaching, and support for implementation of best instructional and assessment practices in the classroom to improve teaching and learning.
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES
  1. Through side by side coaching, increase the instructional capacity of teachers in building their teaching skills, applying new knowledge, and providing ongoing professional development.
  2. Provide intentional and ongoing support to teachers, grade levels and departments, to improve the quality of teaching and learning through increased use of research-based practices.
  3. Support teachers by searching out resources regarding effective instruction and assessment practices and emerging trends that will enhance the curriculum and increase student achievement.
  4. Model lessons, provide opportunities for teachers to watch and learn new strategies, and observe teachers, giving feedback which helps them to improve and refine their instructional practices.
  5. Assist in developing and facilitating professional development activities in implementing the District's focus areas, specific emphasis to include Common Core State Standards, problem/project/challenge-based learning, and frameworks which promote students' collaboration and facilitation of their own learning.
  6. Assist teachers in ensuring that District curriculum and assessment protocols are guaranteed to all students.
  7. Utilize the School Improvement Process with teaching teams to analyze student performance data in order to inform instructional practices and District programming decisions.
  8. Plan and implement staff development activities including the integration of digital resources into classroom instruction to expedite and deepen student learning.
  9. Provide training to students and staff in developing required competencies in the District adopted technology standards and instructional software.
  10. Assist with the instructional management system implementation through training and support in the areas of curriculum revision, assessment development, resource selection, student performance reporting, and data analysis.
  11. Provide input for Professional Development, Curriculum, and Technology Advisory Committees and other activities that support District instructional initiatives.
  12. Meet monthly and work collaboratively with other district Instructional Coaches.
  13. Perform other related duties as assigned.

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:
Teacher contracted year plus ten (10) additional days: salary to be established by the Board.
