YTE, a private Jewish day school in Southwest Houston, is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic part-time Elementary teacher to join our nurturing and academically rigorous environment. This position encompasses teaching language arts, math, science, and social studies, fostering the intellectual and personal development of our students. A strong candidate has experience teaching and holds a bachelor's degree or higher. The candidate will love working with children, have strong classroom management skills, excellent content knowledge, and be a flexible team member who enjoys growing professionally.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement engaging and developmentally appropriate lessons that align with the school's curriculum and educational goals.
- Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages student participation, collaboration, and respect for one another.
- Assess student progress using formative and summative assessments, maintaining accurate records of grades, and providing timely and constructive feedback to students and parents.
- Utilize a variety of instructional resources to cater to different learning styles and abilities.
- Collaborate with other teachers, administrators, and parents to ensure a cohesive and comprehensive educational experience for students.
- Maintain effective communication with parents through regular updates, conferences, and feedback on student progress and behavior.
- Participate in professional development opportunities.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Education or a relevant field (Master's degree preferred).
- Experience teaching elementary grade levels
- Strong knowledge of curriculum, instructional strategies, and assessment methods for Language Arts, Math, Science, and Social Studies.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively engage and collaborate with students, colleagues, and parents.
- Passion for teaching, commitment to student growth, and the ability to create a nurturing and supportive learning environment.
