General Function:
Facilitate student learning aligned to the New Mexico physical education standards.
Education/Training/Experience:
(Basic minimum requirements are subject to change from time to time to meet the needs of the District.)
Minimum: New Mexico Public Education Department Specialty PK-12 Teacher license w/Physical Education
endorsement or New Mexico Public Education Department 6-12 Teacher license w/Physical Education endorsement
Preferred: Teaching in a secondary education setting is preferable.
Knowledge/Skills and Abilities:
Candidate should be knowledgeable in best practices, Common Core State Standards, and NM state
priority standards. Candidates must be able to work with others and be able to follow core curriculum and
mandated grant requirements. Candidates should be able to produce documents related to
NMPED/SFPS reporting requirements and to promote the summer program to families. Basic computer
skills (MS Office/web based applications) are required.
Essential Job Functions:
All functions are performed in accordance with established policies, procedures, safety and
environmental regulations, facility and computer security policies and procedures. Functions are subject
to change from time to time to meet the needs of the organization. Current essential functions include
the following:
1. Adhere to school and district policies.
2. Supervise students.
3. Establish and maintain a safe and welcoming classroom environment that focuses on student
growth, progress, and mastery of content.
4. Maintain open communication with students, families, and school staff.
5. Maintain accurate and current records.
6. Additional duties as assigned
Salary Range:
$40.00/hr.
