Job Goal:Summer programming at Capuano offers experiences for children with little to no prior preschool experience or who would benefit from summer programming as they transition to kindergarten.
These Summer Programs provide opportunities for students to become oriented to the classroom and school setting and practice early literacy, language, and math skills. The daily schedule includes free breakfast and lunch, classroom activities including directed learning experiences in academic areas, opportunities for play, and enrichment activities. In addition, there are parent engagement activities during the week to support home-school connections.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Early Childhood/Elementary and/or ESL/ELL license and relevant successful early childhood teaching experience.
- Experience setting up a developmentally appropriate environment and planning rich curriculum experiences.
- Ability to maintain a safe and healthy environment for young children.
- Ability to support bilingual/multicultural communication with diverse students and families preferred.
Responsibilities:
- Supervise and collaborate with paraprofessionals and service providers.
- Plan and deliver high-quality, developmentally appropriate curriculum.
- Support children’s social emotional, academic, and physical needs.
- Build relationships with children that support learning.
- Support an inclusive classroom environment for all children.
- Participate in professional development before and during the program.
- Participate in set-up day and clean-up of classrooms on the final day.

- $35 per hour worked
- Mandatory Orientation and Professional Development Days: June 27-28, 2024

Regular Day: 8:00 am - 4:00 pm
Reports to: Director of Early Childhood Education & Director of Summer Explore Kindergarten Transition Program
