Job Summary:
This position is an onsite role.
Raytheon is seeking a Civil Engineering Intern with the technical and communication skills needed to support ongoing programs at our Springfield, Virginia location.
Responsibilities to Anticipate:
- Support a multidisciplinary engineering team through design and construction implementation by assisting senior engineers on various projects.
- Design and analysis of structures, creating detailed fabrication drawings, material testing, report writing, contribution to presentations, support to design reviews, and support for various interdisciplinary projects.
- Candidates must be professional, self-starters, possess a positive attitude, and work well with the engineering and technician teams.
Basic Qualifications:
- Must be a Junior or Senior by the start of summer 2024 in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM), Civil Engineering, or related
- The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required. U.S. citizenship is required, asonly U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
- Fundamental engineering skills
- General Civil Engineering materials knowledge
- Interest in Geotechnical or Structural engineering
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications
- Good oral and written communication skills
Desired Skills
- Coursework in Civil Engineering, preferably Geotechnical and Civil Materials courses
- Experience with Structural or Geotechnical Analysis software (e.g. RAM Elements, Plaxis)
- Experience and/or coursework in CAD, preferably SolidWorks
- Experience working in a team environment
- Experience with laboratory testing
- Experience with computational analysis software (e.g. Matlab, MathCad)
