About:
Provide support to Savannah River Mission Completion (SRMC) as an Construction Coordinator Student Intern - Limited Service Employee (LSE) on the Savannah River Site (SRS), a US Department of Energy (DOE) facility in Aiken, South Carolina.
Responsibilities: The Construction Coordinator Student Interns will perform meaningful work in support of the SRMC organization. Selected Construction Coordinator Student Interns will assist the Area Project Construction Manager (APCM) with work planning, scheduling, estimating, safety, quality and technical field support of construction work activities and projects as assigned.
Additional Information:
Intern shall be capable of traversing uneven ground and climbing stairways. Intern shall possess general computer skills (Word and Excel). The internship is expected to run through the 2024-2025 school year. Housing is not provided, and the selected candidate will be responsible for their own transportation. Assignments will be located in SRMC facilities in Aiken, SC and public transportation is not available. A valid Driver’s License, Registration and proof of automobile insurance is required for driving on the Savannah River Site.
Interns will be paid a competitive hourly rate; no interns will be assigned to shift work; overtime is not available; Interns will be paid for site holidays as applicable.

- Candidate must be enrolled as a full-time student at:
- An accredited four-year university, and currently working towards a Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Applied Math, Chemistry or MBA in Project Management.
- Veterans who are be pursuing other degrees but possess military construction experience will be considered.
- Must have a cumulative GPA of 2.5 or above
In addition:
- Must pass General Employment Training (GET)
- Must pass Drug and Alcohol Testing (DAT)
These two items will be scheduled before the intern starts work at Savannah River Site.
Preferred Qualifications: Students currently enrolled at the University of South Carolina Aiken and connected through the Veteran Center for Student Success are encouraged to apply.
