1st Shift - Shipping/Receiving Clerk

Job Position: 1st Shift - Shipping/Receiving Clerk 3-6 month assignment

Location: Rancho Cucamonga, CA 91730

Pay Rate: $18.00/hr

Shift: 1st Shift

PURPOSE: Receives incoming and ships outgoing materials, products, or supplies. Counts items received or shipped and checks against packing lists, recording any discrepancies. Prepares receiving or shipping reports and notes any shortages or damages. Performs repetitive work to pack or load products, parts, or merchandise into designated packages, boxes, crates, or other receptacles in accordance with packaging specifications.

EXPERIENCE: 3-6 years relevant experience in shipping and receiving and packaging environment.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

Analytical/Problem solving skills.

Warehouse Processes (Shipping & Receiving, Packaging, etc.).

Computer skills (Microsoft Office, MAPICS, etc.).

Mechanical Measurement and Instrumentation skills (Scale counting).

Comprehend Military Specification Marking and Packaging Instructions.

Oral and written Communication skills.

Ability to handle multiple programs and tasks simultaneously and efficiently.

Able to work independently in a fast-paced environment, have a positive professional demeanor.

Excellent time management skills, and ability to pay attention to detail.

Professionalism and ability to interface effectively with all levels of personnel.

Ability to work in a comprehensive team environment.

Ability to drive a forklift as necessary.

DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

Checks accuracy of received materials, documents receipt, and reports any discrepancies as necessary.

Assigns lot numbers to incoming production material. Attaches identifying tags or labels to materials or marks information on cases, bales, or other containers.

Maintains Shipping and Receiving material log.

Packages and marks materials for shipment in accordance with Military Specifications or customer specifications.

Prepares receiving and shipping reports.

Suggests improvements to distribution procedures, and acts to improve timeliness or reduce costs.

May operate a forklift for moving or stacking materials.

Pulls stored materials for orders and moves to production or shipping area.

Completes other duties as directed by the Supply Chain Manager or designee.

CONTACT WITH OTHERS:

Internal: Contact with employees, supervisors, and management.

External: Often has contact with vendors outside the company.

PHYSICAL/MENTAL REQUIREMENTS:

Employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; talk or hear; and taste or smell. The employee may lift and/or move up to 50 lbs. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. The individual must have a high level of comprehension, and a high level of general, verbal, and numerical intelligence.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

Works majority of the day in an un-climate-controlled environment, with the exception of occasionally performing work in the office, which is subject to moderate changes in temperature.
