We are looking to hire multiple Production Workers with our Industrial client in Santa Fe Springs, CA. This is a contract to hire opportunity.

Hours: 1st shift (5am - 1:30pm)

Pay: $18/hr. to start +$1 once hired on

Position Summary
This position is responsible for packaging finished product by attaching steel strapping around bundles. The duties include assisting other workers engaged in production of steel pipe and tubing.

Essential Job Functions

Bundling & Inspection Activities

• Sets up and operates the stacking mechanism to form tubing into proper bundles.
• Removes pipe and tubing from tube mills to package the finished product.
• Uses pneumatic strapping tools to attach steel strapping around bundles of pipe and tubing.
• Assists in moving finished goods to the warehouse as necessary by hooking and unhooking crane.
• Assists in roll change operations.
• Cleans rolls and cleans up steel shavings, sludge and debris, and performs a variety of other cleaning activities as necessary.
• Provides assistance to all areas of the factory as necessary.

Other & Miscellaneous – 10%

• Participates in the roll change activity of the mill when the production size is changing.
• Helps other employees and work sections as required.
• Responsible for understanding and complying with the company’s safety procedures and safe work practices.
• Seeks constant improvement, more efficient and less expensive ways and means in work processes.
• Performs special projects and other miscellaneous duties as assigned by supervisors
• Maintains high ethical standards in the work place.
• Reports all irregular issues and problems to supervisors for solution.
• Maintains good communication with supervisors, office staff members and co-workers.
• Complies with all company policies and procedures.
• Responsible for helping to maintain a clean and safe work environment.

Attendance & Punctuality

• Daily attendance and punctuality are essential behaviors. We maintains a rolling 12-month absence rate which is the number of hours an employee has been absent during the previous 12 months.
• An absence rate of 20 hours or above may result in a negative effect on your overall performance evaluation, salary increase and/or bonus. In addition, an absence rate of 20 hours or less may result in a positive effect in your overall performance evaluation, salary increase and/or bonus.
• Being Late or Tardy - Being late or tardy from work is defined as between 1 ~ 15 minutes. Tardiness is tracked as the number of times or occasions an employee is late or tardy.
• Being excessively tardy or late for a scheduled shift can result in a negative effect on your overall performance evaluation, salary increase and/or bonus.
