Oertel Metalworks is currently seeking a reliable and safety-oriented 1st and 3rd Shift Industrial Worker/CNC Operator based out of Davenport, Iowa.
Our Industrial Worker/CNC Operator will be responsible for safely loading and unloading castings and raw materials into CNC machinery. This position must be able to read and understand blueprints, use calibrated measuring devices and inspect parts. CNC Operators are responsible for deploying & properly using inserts, fixtures and tooling's, along with performing daily cleaning and maintenance on the CNC machinery. CNC Operators may also be responsible for operating CNC laser and plasma cutting equipment, handling and loading sheets and plates, as well as unloading and deburring parts.
What makes you successful in this position?
- Previous CNC experience in a manufacturing setting.
- Plasma Cutting, Laser Cutting, or painting experience (wet or dry) is beneficial, but will train as needed.
- Experience with hand power tools.
- Fork truck driving experience, or the ability to learn and safely operate a fork truck.
- Team player mentality and the desire to be a part of a successful, hard-working team.
- Ability to pass a pre-employment physical and drug screen.
This position works Monday to Friday from 7:00am to 3:30pm (1st shift) or 9:30pm to 6:00am (3rd shift) each day, with the option for overtime. Base pay starts at $20.44/hour for 1st shift or $24.25 for 3rd shift including a shift premium.
