1871 seeks a professionally driven, creative, and highly motivated intern to support our Marketing team.
This role will assist the Social Media Coordinator in brainstorming, writing, and editing a wide range of 1871 content, including
- Collaborating with the marketing team to develop Social Media campaigns and strategies.
- Assisting in creating and scheduling Social Media content across various platforms like Instagram, LinkedIn, TikTok, X, and more.
- Supporting monitoring Social Media channels for engagement and responding to comments/messages.
- Staying up-to-date with research on emerging and industry trends on Social Media.
- Collaborating with Social Content Producer in content creation for our in-person events
- Analyze Social Media metrics
Projects May Include:
- Social Media Research of trends and platform growth
- Assisting as needed with administrative tasks leading up to the Annual Fundraising Event
Requirements
- Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Marketing, Film, Digital or MultiMedia.
- Proficient in video editing with a portfolio to showcase skills.
- Strong understanding of Social Media platforms and trends.
- Comfortable and engaging in front of the camera.
- Team player with creative storytelling ability through visual content.
- Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks
- Ability to multitask and use creativity to develop new event concepts
- Strong interest in technology, innovation, and entrepreneurship
- Self-starter and ability to work autonomously and in cross-functional teams
- Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
- Advanced computer processing skills, including Google Workspace (Docs, Sheets, Slides)

Time: Monday - Thursday, 10 am-4 pm (hours and time commitment may be flexible if agreed upon by the supervisor and the internship candidate prior to the start of the internship)
This internship is from June 3 to August 9, 2024, and is in-person.
