Pay: $17.25/hour - WEEKLY PAYCHECKS!
Education: High School diploma or GED equivalent
Experience: Six months volunteer or work experience assisting persons with intellectual or developmental disabilities

Kahu Malama Nurses is seeking passionate Caregiver Assistants to join our growing and dynamic team at a Honolulu Health Center for Adults!
Job Description:
- Assures that the rights of participants are protected, including protection from abuse and neglect, dangerous or hazardous conditions and by following established reporting procedures.
- Supports participants in performing activities of daily living skills such as meal preparation, eating, grooming, toileting and dressing.
- Utilizes assistive devices (e.g. wheelchairs, walkers, etc.) or assists with walking according to the individual’s IPP or ISP.
- Supports participants in participating in treatment programs as stated in the IPP or ISP, as directed by the supervisor in-charge.
- Assists participants with their medications, as needed
- Assists in maintaining properties, grounds, and surrounding area in a neat, clean, and sanitary condition by performing cleaning duties, such as sweeping, mopping, washing, and scrubbing on a regular basis.
- Implements and collects data on participant specific programs and maintains participant records, including progress notes and communication books, in a timely manner.
- Interacts with parents, guardians, interdisciplinary team members, and other related persons and programs to benefit client participants.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Position Requirements:
- Must have a valid Driver’s License & safely drive a van
- Must have a smartphone
- Must be at least 18 years old
- Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal skills
- Ability to operate assistive devices including Hoyer lift, wheelchair, walker, and gait belt
- Ability to intermittently lift, push and pull up to 50 lbs., with minimal assistance
- Current work clearances which may include, but are not limited to, PE, initial 2-step PPD, annual PPD, CPR, First Aid, criminal history, APS & CAN registries, FBI fingerprinting and a driver’s abstract with an acceptable level of infractions. Hepatitis B vaccination optional but recommended
