JOB TITLE: Information and Technology Systems Director
SUPERVISED BY: Chief Transformation Officer
SUPERVISES: Informational Technology staff, Instructional Technology Specialist
SUMMARY OF JOB DESCRIPTION:
The Information and Technology Systems Director will play a pivotal role in overseeing and enhancing the Information and technological infrastructure that supports our district's strategic plan and operations. The Director will manage the planning, implementation, and maintenance of all Information and Technology Systems, ensuring they align with the district's educational goals and support efficient administrative operations. The Director will be responsible for all data reporting, state assessment administration, and compliance.

  • Data
  1. Provides leadership, vision, and implementation oversight and support of the District's data strategy to ensure continuous organizational development and improvement that supports the District's vision and strategic plan.
  2. Data Management: Implement robust data management practices, ensuring the integrity, confidentiality, and availability of educational data. Collaborate with stakeholders to leverage data for informed decision-making.
  3. Lead process for developing and maintaining a district data dashboard to report on progress toward district goals and the district strategic plan and drive decision making district wide.
  4. Oversee and support all data reporting to the Board of Education and other community stakeholders.
  5. Work with the Communications Director to ensure communications about district data and assessments include appropriate analysis and make recommendations for messaging.
  6. In collaboration with district leaders and principals, they are responsible for implementing and developing the district Unified Improvement Plan and progress monitoring strategy.
  7. Lead District efforts to analyze state and local assessment data to inform instructional initiatives in buildings and across the district.
  8. Work with the Instructional Team and Leadership Team to develop and support the PLC and coaching initiatives through providing data and best practices for data-driven dialogue.
  9. Work with the Director of Postsecondary Readiness to develop and identify indicators and metrics for progress monitoring program expansion.
  10. Partner with the Equity Director to develop equity audit metrics and a system for progress monitoring.
  • Assessment
  1. Serve as the District Assessment Coordinator for the state assessment program.
  2. Oversee state and local testing setup, preparations and administration ensuring training and compliance across all schools.
  3. Organize and implement the PD and training for assessment implementation and data use for teachers and staff.
  4. Responsible for compiling the student growth component of teacher evaluations and reporting to principals, teachers and the state.
  5. Attend state and local training.
  6. Oversee district assessment data systems (EduClimber, Renaissance STAR, TS-Gold, Nagleria, PA Next, ACCESS, KITE, College Board).
  7. Oversee and develop a strategy for use of educational program access (Clever, McGraw Hill Wonders/Maravillas, Reveal, SAVVAS Easy-Bridge)
  • Accountability
  1. Act as the District Accountability Coordinator for the state accountability program. (SPF's, DPF, Accreditation, submit UIP's, Request to Reconsider).
  2. Collaborate with District leadership and principals in developing Unified Improvement Plans.
  3. Act as the Local Access Manager for the district.
  1. Technology
    1. Strategic Planning: Develop and implement a comprehensive IT strategy aligned with the district's educational objectives, ensuring that technology initiatives contribute to the overall success of the educational programs.
    2. Team Leadership: Lead and develop a skilled IT team, fostering a collaborative and innovative work environment. Provide mentorship and professional development opportunities for team members.
    3. Create and evaluate the IT department's systems for help-desk support for local and off-site users of computers, technology peripherals, telephone/voicemail, and other digital technologies in a positive, caring, efficient, and effective manner.
    4. Create and evaluate the IT department's systems to plan, assign, direct, and provide guidance for technology support issues related to software, hardware, or working practices that can not be resolved quickly or remotely.
    5. Provide support, supervision, direction, and long-term planning for District IT department staff.
    6. Coordinate with the finance department to develop the IT department's annual budget in alignment with District goals.
    7. Oversee staff device selection, purchase, distribution, and maintenance.
    8. Oversee student device selection, purchase, distribution, and maintenance.
    9. Oversee student data information systems to facilitate collection, management, and distribution of
    10. student data.
    11. Continuously seek to broaden knowledge and skills by researching problems and finding solutions to stay current with Technology Systems and solutions.
    12. Monitor and track support requests being made, as well as solutions, and communicate data with the department to improve district support services.
    13. Oversee special projects for the department as required, including but not limited to website updates, annual systems updates, etc.

QUALIFICATION AND SKILLS:
  1. Bachelor's degree required. Master's Degree in an education-related field preferred.
  2. Demonstrated effective analysis and presentation of data.
  3. Strong interpersonal and leadership skills, including leading effectively through influence.
  4. Demonstrate commitment to equity, diversity and inclusion.
  5. Proven experience in a leadership role within educational technology or a similar field.
  6. In-depth knowledge of information systems, networking, cybersecurity, and educational technology trends.
  7. Strong project management skills with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple initiatives simultaneously.
  8. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with diverse stakeholders.
  9. Familiarity with relevant compliance and regulatory requirements in education technology.
