Day Program: Camp Leader Summer Staff

Position Purpose: To further the mission of Camp Clover Day Program (under Clover Family Services LLC) through the coordination of programming and services.

Start/End Dates: Training will take place June 4-6, 2024 from 9-3pm. You must be available for this training. First day of summer programming begins 6/10/2024, and ends 8/29/2024.

Camp Clover Day Program is a program under Clover Family Services LLC that is dedicated to providing skilled and compassionate services to those ages 9-30 experiencing intellectual and developmental challenges and mental illness. This is an exciting opportunity for providers to utilize their experience and education to move the organization and program to the next level!

Reporting to the Day Program: Camp Director and Coordinator, this position is responsible for providing our services to the Day Program participants both in the center and in the community.

Day Program: Camp Leaders will work closely with the Camp Director as well as the Camp Coordinator to observe, plan, and implement activities and learning opportunities, and development in daily living, social and life skills.

Schedule: Staff can work full or part time from working full days, 7:45am-3:30pm from Monday-Friday.

Essential Job Functions:

  • To report any unusual occurrences or incidents to the Camp Director or their designate, immediately, and document such in a manner as prescribed by the agency and the State of Wisconsin Mandated Reporter Laws.
  • Provide transportation in personal vehicle for daily activities (mileage reimbursed)
  • To assist and collaborate, when applicable, with any or all other collateral agencies as a representative of Clover Family Services in a professional manner.
  • To demonstrate the fundamental principles of the agency when engaging with the participants in daily activities.
  • To assist in the development and provision of behavior management strategies, training programs, and participant support as determined by the Camp Director and the agency management team. This is to be provided in keeping with the agency’s mandate and in a non-intrusive, non-threatening, non-manipulative, supportive manner, in the least restrictive environment as possible.
  • Provide direct, in person supervision to participants of the day program in the manner as prescribed by the Camp Director and the management team.
  • Model appropriate behavior and responses during shifts to other colleagues as well as participants.
  • Responsible for the ongoing development, monitoring, and maintenance of the individual participants’ service plans as well as the review and communication of such plans on an ongoing basis with co-workers.
  • Meet weekly with the Camp Director for individual feedback and planning.
  • Completion of individual member progress notes on a regular basis (meaning daily) throughout the course of the day. The leader is responsible for documenting in an accurate, descriptive, and objective manner, addressing applicable goal areas and issues as determined by their plan and the Camp Director.
  • May require assistance with personal care tasks such as toileting and feeding/G-tubes.
  • Work with participants ages 8-30 with a variety of needs: mental health diagnoses, autism, developmental disability, cognitive disability, etc

Relationships:

This position will work collaboratively with internal and external individuals and groups to ensure the enhancement of the camp operation. These individuals and groups include but are not limited to: CEO, Camp Director/Coordinator, HR Director, County Case Workers, camp leaders, community agencies and organizations, and parents/guardians. Camp Leaders are the face of the organization so the ability to communicate and develop positive relationships with all who come in contact with is priority.

Equipment Used:

Camp Leaders will use the computer to access the internet for a variety of purposes including but not limited to: database, camper photo sharing and email delivery system, and email. Knowledge of computer use is required.

Qualifications:

This position requires a High School Diploma or GED, and experience with the population served. Additional experience and education relating to mental health, autism, and other developmental diagnoses a plus. Training and experience in working with children, teens, and young adults is also preferred.

Physical Requirements:

This position requires the ability to present yourself in a professional manner, communicate, listen to others, observe others’ actions, read text and information; comprehend instructions and manuals, plan and organize, and physically move about the camp property in various environmental conditions. Must be able to occasionally assist to lift, or lift-assist, up to 100lbs.

Other Requirements:

Screening includes passing a caregiver/criminal background check, reference check. Must have reliable vehicle, current car insurance, and valid driver’s license.

Pay: $15.50 - $16.50 per hour

Expected hours: 8 – 38 per week
