Welcome to HERO Kids Sports!

HERO KIDS SPORTS is an innovative, non-competitive sports enrichment program for kids ages 2-12 years old, teaching the fundamentals of sports and the values of teamwork in a fun and encouraging environment. Our HERO Programs have been curated for all skill and play levels supporting our kids in building their confidence through our 11-sport curriculum.

11 Sport Program: New Coaches trained in ALL 11 sports, including Baseball, Basketball, Football, Floor hockey, Gymnastics, Kickball, Lacrosse, Soccer, Track and field, Volleyball, Mindfulness Yoga, Gym Games, and a variety of fun Obstacle Courses!

HERO COACHES: At HERO Kids Sports, our coaching team goes beyond traditional instruction, skilled in teaching non-competitive sports instruction, FUN, encouraging and humor focused capacity.

We go beyond conventional coaching methods by ensuring that our coaches bring an extra layer of excitement to each session. Their charismatic and engaging approach creates an inspiring environment not only for the kids but for all families We believe that a positive and uplifting atmosphere is key to fostering a love for sports and building a strong community.

Scope of HERO:

We’ve been recognized by the Denver Nuggets, Boston Red Sox, and more as a leading provider of youth development programming. 36,000 kids in 2023 alone were impacted by HERO’s unique approach to development through non-competitive sports. Since 2014, HERO Kids Sports has been inspiring the HERO within kids ages 2-12 years old in the Greater Denver area. In 2023, we are continuing to expand rapidly and are looking for inspiring individuals to join our growing team.

Sample day in the life of a HERO Coach & Coach in Training at Summer Camp:

• Coaches may coach 1-3 programs per day depending on availability.
• Programs include preschool, elementary school, community centers, camps, park classes etc.
• Summer hours include coaching at one of our Summer Program Sites including In Northwest Denver - Berkeley, Highlands, Jefferson Park & East Denver - Crestmoor Park and Robinson Park.

FAQs:

• How many programs do Coaches lead per day? Schedule may include coaching 1-2 programs/day.
• Do I need a car/to be able to drive to programs? Coaches will need reliable transportation that includes transporting equipment to facilitate programming.
• Does HERO operate programming throughout the year? Yes, we offer programs in partnership with preschool & elementary schools, Community Centers etc.
• How many hours are required for this position? Our year round coaching position is a part time position of 15 hours per week with room for growth. Our summer job opportunities range from 15-22 hours per week.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:

Job description: What is this position all about?

• Position includes assisting with camp set up, camper welcome, introductions, coaching camp activities including sport fundamentals, skills and games, snack/lunch may pertain depending on program, restroom breaks, clean up and camper farewell.
• Training(s) in our 11 sport HERO Curriculum.
• Supervision and safety of all children in each program.
• Collaboration with HERO Management for daily curriculum and equipment planning in preparation for programs.
• Great communication skills!

Requirements to be on the team: What do I need for the day to day?

• Positive, fun and enthusiastic energy for inspiring the kids we coach through sport!
• Reliable transportation to commute to and from programming.
• Interest in leadership development and coaching.
• Experience or interest in working with/caring for children ages 4-12 years old.
• Coaches are required to follow our HERO Kids Sports Curriculum Program.
• Coaches are accountable for all children at all times during class.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $20.00 - $25.00 per hour

Expected hours: 16 – 24 per week
