The Coordinator of Youth Services is responsible for having content expertise for the DBH across treatment and prevention services/programming. This position will connect lines of effort where and when appropriate.
Responsibilities:
- Content expert on youth elements of the following programs:
- Community Psychiatric Rehabilitation
- Comprehensive Substance Use Treatment and Rehabilitation
- Strong understanding of Youth Prevention Initiatives/Efforts
- Lead and implementation of new Youth Initiatives/Efforts
- Strong coordination and communication with Youth staff across the Department
- Frequent and professional coordination and communication with stakeholders
- Knowledge of current evidence based practices regarding youth and attentive to any that are newly developed
- Aid in the development of any new and the updating of any existing:
- Code of State Regulations
- Medicaid manuals
- Internal Policies, to include memos and manuals
- Have a baseline understanding of funding and billing practices for youth programs/initiatives
- Utilize data to improve initiatives and programming
- Have knowledge of or work to create a knowledge base around trauma informed care and engage in lines of effort around it
- Represent MO DMH in a professional manner at all time by effectively communicating with community organizations, other state agencies, and providers on a variety of issues
- Seek out opportunities to improve work processes to reduce costs, reduce lead times, and/or increase accuracy
- Performs other duties as assigned
Applicants must be well organized and able to successfully manage multiple work priorities. This position requires existing knowledge of, or the development of expertise around youth policies, procedures and regulations. Professional oral and written communication skills are essential. Sound judgement and strong critical thinking skills are needed to be successful in this role. The ideal candidate must have the ability to collaborate with others and work as a team player.
Eligibility:
A bachelor's degree in social work, psychology, counseling, or related field. Professional experience working with youth in the specified mental health fields is preferred.
This position requires travel with overnight stays when necessary as well as in office presence.
