Job Summary:
The Youth Program Supervisor oversees the Youth Program that provides direct clinical interventions and case management to children at a transitional residence with approximately 100 families.They work closely with the Program Directors to ensure the children's needs are assessed and ameliorated. They are collaborative, creative, innovative, child-centered, team focused and open to learning. They have contributed to Youth Program management in the past and are excited to be in a position to build upon the rich youth history in the shelter at the Urban Family Center.

- Hours: 35 hours per week; flexibility to work days, evenings, and weekends for pre-scheduled programs and holidays
- Pay: $60,000-65,000
- Location: Fully onsite in the Lower East Side

Qualifications:
- Associates Required, Bachelor's degree preferred
- Minimum of four (4) years' experience working with children
- 2+ years of managerial experience required
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Experience in group and individual counseling
- Must be able to obtain CPR/First Aid certification
- Ability to work evenings and weekends
- Deep commitment to supporting the success of children and young adults impacted by homelessness and domestic violence as it relates to educational, emotional, familial, and concrete needs
- Working collaboratively with parents, teachers, schools, case managers, and other professionals to support struggling students
- Develop and refine assessment tools and procedures
- Work with students individually and in group settings
- Must have excellent judgment, boundaries, interpersonal skills and problem-solving abilities
- Must be willing to travel to all 5 boroughs on public transportation when necessary
- Must be organized and able to maintain up-to-date documentation and service plans
- Must be familiar with educational success indicators and mitigating factors
- Experience with AWARDS and DHS CARES (preferred)
Responsibilities:
- Provide direct supervision to homeless shelter youth staff (afterschool/summer camp)
- Direct supervision of Boys & Girls Republic After-school and Summer Day Camp programs
- Supervise child care, computer lab, Saturday program, evening and weekend recreation programs
- Assist with the planning, coordination, implementation, and evaluation of all children activities
- Escort youth on trips
- Supervise individual/group counseling
- Supervise assessment of the emotional and physical needs of children
- Develop linkages with community-based organizations that provide services for children
- Document intake, assessment, individualized plans, progress notes, quarterly summaries, and discharges within prescribed timelines
- Maintain appropriate records and monthly reports
- Run statistical reports and keep accurate records
- Provide crisis intervention and counseling
- Establish and maintain strong lines of communication with parents and school personnel
- Direct workload of staff, make hiring and firing recommendations, complete annual performance evaluation and establish personnel accountabilities for staff
- Must be flexible with schedule changes, with possible weekend and evening supervisory coverage
- Other related duties as assigned by supervisor
