Job Description
Will be a key player in the spiritual growth and maturity of the children, teenagers, and young adult Ministries at Faith Christian Church (FCC), with the implementation of an annual effective youth programming to stimulate, inspire, draw the community youth and grow the numbers to approximately 10-30 students in the first year.
As part of the medium-sized evangelical church, the person will interact with the Senior Pastor and staff and other pastors, parents, members, youth and youth leaders, and external agencies to integrate the youth in all phases of church life and produce deliverables associated with the growth and maturity of FCC Youth Ministries (e.i., children teenagers and young adults). The Youth Minister’s responsibility include but are not limited to:
- Lead and organize effective youth programs implementing fellowship, worship, biblical teaching, discipline, discipleship and evangelism, as well as ministry and mission opportunities;
- Recruit, train and shepherd volunteer youth with diverse gifts and personalities;
- Support FCC parents in effectively fulfilling their Christian parenting roles, in concert with other pastoral staff;
- Seek to integrate youth ministry in all phases of church life to create a culture that is intentionally intergenerational, striving to unite with and complement other church ministries;
- Give oversight and appropriate organizational help to all youth focused programs (e.i., VBS, Atmos-fiya, Children’s Church, Heritage Choir, etc.)
- Manage and build up all aspects of the Youth Strong initiative. This is a youth outreach/ community program. involving hiring and managing summer interns, interfacing with City of Boston YEO , organizing and leading summer camps etc.
- Plan and execute biblically accurate, culturally relevant, and high-energy bi-weekly services for youth and occasionally to adults;
- Help to build a successful pipeline between children’s ministry, youth ministry and young adult ministry;
- Maintain a well-planned, carefully balanced program throughout the year coordinated with the church calendar of events;
- Partner with various summer organizations and attend supervisory training to direct YouthStrong staff throughout the summer mentorship program.
