Youth Ministry Director of Charter Schools - West Michigan Youth For Christ

We are excited to present a new opportunity for a Youth Ministry Directorto build those deep relationships with our young people and introduce them to Christ in our area Charter Schools. In this role, you will develop strategic relationships collaborating with Charter Schools/staff/community, be on campus daily, and grow pure relationships with kids ages 11-19 from all walks of life. Our ideal candidate will possess spiritual and organizational leadership skills, strong interpersonal skills with the ability to connect with and through all people and strong communication skills. As a religious nonprofit organization, Youth For Christ incorporates within each Youth Ministry Director role, the requirement to model, teach, share, and live the faith at 2-3 campuses. In this role, some of your responsibilities will include:

• Student Ministry: Direct ministry with students by performing weekly Campus Life relational ministry action items (RMA’s): contacting, building times, appointments, small groups, core, club, and participating in related strategic trips and events.
• Volunteer Ministry: Direct ministry with volunteers, including training, meetings, recruiting for direct ministry, community support, and prayer volunteers.
• School Collaboration: Develop and cultivate healthy access by serving, nurturing, and maintaining positive relationships with the school, its leadership and support staff.
• Organization & Presence: Prepare ministry, financial, and other reports as needed; Prepare for and attend all meetings, events, clubs, etc.
• Fundraising: Regularly and actively participate in faithful activities that advance the stewardship functions of YFC. These activities will include extending invitations to fundraising events, recruiting personal circle of influence/YFC donor contacts, sending letters, handwritten notes, personal calls, and personally ministering to donor contacts.
• Spiritual Alignment: As a recognized associate minister of the Gospel, participate and lead regular times of prayer, devotion, and worship, teaching and preaching from the Holy Bible at YFC staff meetings, conferences, camps, events, etc.
• Growth & Development: Partake in personal development by participating in annual Employee Performance Evaluations and attending regular training and individual investments offered on a local and national level.

To be a successfulYouth Ministry Director, you will need:

• Minimum of 3 years progressive and related ministry experience OR bachelor’s degree in ministry, counseling, or related field with solid internship/volunteer experience
• Embrace the vision, mission, and Statement of Faith of YFC (Statement)
• Strong moral character and of good repute
• Ability to connect, communicate, mentor and build relationships with adults and young people
• Honor and pursue diversity of gifts, cultures, and ethnicities
• Excellent oral, interpersonal, and presentation skills
• Self-motivated with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple responsibilities
• Perseverance through opposition and obstacles
