Community and Veterans Services Library Division
Island Library, 5701 Marina Drive, Holmes Beach, FL
Monday - Saturday, 40 hours a week. Schedule will vary, with some evenings and Saturdays.

The Manatee County Public Library System supports the County's growing community and visitors through a wide range of educational and technological resources, programs, and classes at seven facilities. As a Youth Services Librarian (Librarian 1) in our Island Library, you will directly assist children, parents, and caregivers each day, in person, on the computers and via phone. Youth Librarians plan original programs for the public, provide readers advisory services and work cooperatively with coworkers at the branch, and other Youth Services Staff across the County. Youth Services staff are responsible for ongoing successful implementation of system-wide literacy initiatives, such as Summer Learning Program and 1000 Books Before Kindergarten. Minimum Qualifications
Required Qualifications

• Master's degree in library and information science from an accredited graduate program, or bachelor's degree and enrolled in an accredited MLS/MLIS program with the ability to obtain an MLS/MLIS within twelve (12) months of hire.
• Valid FL driver license required within 30 days of hire

Desired Qualifications

• Prior supervisory responsibility/experience desired
• Prior library work experience
