Youth Mobile Crisis Outreach Team Mental Health Care Provider - Full Time
Hiring Range: $29.58 - $36.97 per hour

The Mental Health Care Provider provides a prompt and focused expert response to persons in crisis compassionately and efficiently in keeping with State and SBHO-mandated crisis services. Provide immediate crisis resolutions emphasizing stabilizing the crisis in the least restrictive way, facilitating access to Mental Health and substance use disorder services, and performing risk assessments and crisis interventions. The Mental Health Care Provider works with Peer Crisis Support Specialists, other Mental Health Care Providers, and Designated Crisis Responders.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Provide crisis outreach services throughout Kitsap County working within a collaborative and supportive team environment with assignments requiring outreaches for community crisis interventions and assessments.
- In collaboration with DCR’s and CPC conduct face-to-face (FTF) assessments of individuals to determine their crisis and when appropriate provide warm handoff of clients to DCR’s that meet criteria for involuntary detention under criteria defined by the Involuntary Treatment Act (RCW Ability to quickly deescalate, interview, assess, and mediate in hostile and volatile environments with potentially aggressive patients while maintaining calmness, situational awareness, and clinical control of the situation
- Maintain and demonstrate an expert-level working knowledge of WA State ITA RCW 71.05, 71.34, and DCR protocols.
- Ability to quickly de-escalate, interview, assess, and mediate with potentially aggressive patients in hostile and volatile environments while maintaining calmness, situational awareness, and clinical control of the situation.
Minimum Qualifications:
EDUCATION: Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology, social services, or a Mental Health field
EXPERIENCE: Experienced (minimum 5 years of job-related experience)
LICENSURE: Certified AAC with Washington State (The certified AAC credential requires a bachelor's degree in counseling or the social sciences and five years of supervised experience)
This position requires driving clients in a personal vehicle on behalf of the agency; therefore, the incumbent must successfully complete a motor vehicle history check, possess and maintain a current, valid driver's license in the state of Washington, and have reliable, insured transportation.
Preferred Qualifications:
EXPERIENCE: Experience with youth in crisis intervention, crisis triage centers, acute inpatient units or substance abuse treatment centers or community outreach.
Capacity to work well with children and families.
