Job Description
Kyle 2024 Spring Break Camp will be 1-week camp from March 11th-15th, Monday - Friday 7:45am - 5:00 pm. The camp allows the ages of entering 1st grade to entering 9th grade. The camp will be located indoors at the KRUG activity center and outdoors at Mary-Kyle Hartson Square Park. The camp is filled with tons of awesome active activities, water games, and crafts.

The Spring Break Camp seasonal positions has the possibility to lead into a Summer Camp seasonal position upon formal employee review.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Implement programs and activities for the Day Camp, under the supervision of the Head Counselor, Assistant Camp Director, or Recreation Coordinator.
- Implement safety protocol and procedures at all times including but not limited to all City of Kyle facilities and off-site field trips.
- Must be able to get into a pool to supervisor and monitor campers at least 2 times a week.
- Attend all required training, meetings, and in-services scheduled by the Parks & Recreation Director, Recreation Manager, Recreation Coordinator, or Assistant Camp Director throughout the season.
- Maintain positive interpersonal relations among everyone involved in the Camp program including children, parents, Recreation Coordinator, Assistant Camp Director, and other Camp Counselors.
- Be available for fellow Camp Counselors in times of emergencies.
- Always oversee the enforcement of camp rules & regulations, proper documentation and reporting issues to supervisors.
- Follow the daily and weekly schedule of activities for the camp.
- Participate in all scheduled activities including, but not limited to swimming, gym games, and outdoor activities.
- Kyle Spring Break Camp must be able to work the scheduled hours of 6:15 am – 6:00 pm. Must be able to work Monday-Friday with some weekend training required.
- Perform all other duties as duly assigned by the Parks & Recreation Director, Recreation Manager, Recreation Coordinator, and Assistant Camp Director.
QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE AND/OR CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:
- Must be at least 18 years of age and have graduated from high school or obtained a GED equivalent.
- One (1) year professional experience in childcare and/or youth recreation programs preferred, but not required.
- Must possess or be able to obtain a certification in Adult and Child CPR & Standard First Aid. (Before Hire)
- Must possess or be able to obtain a valid Texas Driver's License.
