JOB TITLE: Youth and Family Program Director
REPORTS TO: North District Executive Director FLSA TYPE: Salaried, Exempt
JOB PURPOSE:
The Youth and Family Program :Director will administer all functions related to family engagement programs including: Play & Learn (childcare in the Y while parents work out), Mother's Day Out, and Parent's Nights Out development. A direct focus is required for the recruitment and retention of program participants through excellent customer service and high-level programming. The Youth and Family Director is also responsible for the development of Summer Day Camp and year- round out of school camps. This position collaborates with both branch and association teams to ensure children and their families are a part of a learning community in which they experience a sense of wonder, play, adventure, imagination, and support. Must strive to work cooperatively with fellow employees to achieve the goals and objectives of the YMCA.
PRINCIPAL ACTIVITIES AND ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS (not a complete list):
- Effectively plan, develop and manage all assigned programs.
- Responsible for budgeting, expense control, income generations in the day camp and sports department.
- Create, develop, and maintain relationships with community partners.
- Increase membership and participant retention.
- Recruit, develop and staff.
- Consistently communicate with property managers regarding cleanliness and safety of facility.
- Facilitate communication between all departments so members are aware of all programs &opportunities available to them.
- Coordinate scheduling so the facility operates seamlessly.
- Assist with promotion plan for programs and events including flyers, brochures, website, newsletter, news releases, advertisements.
- Accurate and timely with all assignments, deadlines, etc.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Requirements
SKILLS and KNOWLEDGE:
Required:
Bachelor's Degree (BA/BS) o r equivalent experience
Minimum3yearsexperienceworkingintheyouthdevelopmentindustry.
Minimum of 3 years of volunteer or staff supervision experience
Proven ability to raise funds and grow membership and participant registrations
Preferred:
Current CPR/AED/First Aid Certification (can obtain)
Knowledge of budgeting and expense control.
Excellent written and oral communication skills
Bilingual - English Spanish
Salary Description
$45,000 annually
