About The Role:
Youth Advocates play a pivotal role in our group home dynamic. Advocates are positive mentors who guide and make a difference in teens’ lives. You will be aiding in skill development in all areas of their life such as education, health, housing, employment, relationships.
Physical Requirements:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; sit. Ability to work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner and maintain the standard of care that is appropriate for this position. Must be able to physically respond to residents who are engaging in unsafe behavior. The physical demands described above are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

Responsibilities:
- Report to Program Supervisor and follow guidance from Group Home Supervisor on shift.
- Monitor residents to ensure compliance with program requirements.
- Engage with residents and ensure that their needs are being met.
- Ensure that any resident wishing to have access to religious activities can do so, if desired.
- Attend staff meetings and trainings as required.
- Administer resident medications, according to agency policies and procedures.
- Meet with direct supervisor on a consistent basis for supervision sessions.
- Meet on-call requirements.
- Complete other duties, within reason, that are necessary to provide for the safety and welfare of a child or children as would a parent.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or GED and at least one (1) year of work experience with children
- Valid Pennsylvania Driver’s License
- State Police, FBI, and Child Abuse clearances required. Will be paid for by the agency
- Must be at least 21 years of age per Department of Human Services regulations
- Eligibility under current Pennsylvania legal and regulatory requirements.
Schedule:
- Holidays
- Monday to Friday
- On call
- Weekend availability
- Applicants might be asked to work 2nd or 3rd shift with weekends
