JOIN OUR TEAM by maintaining our facility in York and our York City location to perform cleaning, INSTALLATIONS AND SMALL REPAIRS with rabbittransit.
Part-time, 25 hours per week
Job location: York Facility located at 415 N. Zarfoss Drive, York PA 17404 and our York City Transfer Center
Schedule: Day time hours!
Monday-Friday 7am-12pm
MUST have valid Driver's License
Pay $16.50/hr, range start
The successful candidate MUST have skills/ ability to:
--Assemble office furniture
--Install new bus stop signage
--Perform minor repairs to bus stop signage/bus shelters
--Perform small repairs to facilities, repair leaks, paint, install signage, pressure wash
--Work with outside contractors
--Set up and tear down tables and chair arrangements
--Lift heavy boxes
--Make small local pickups and deliveries.
--Maintains a clean/safe work area by cleaning facilities, both interior and exterior to include cleaning offices and restrooms, sweeping floors, clearing floors and work surfaces of trash and debris, and cleaning up spills.
--Assists in grounds maintenance such as planting, watering, weed control; painting and operating a pressure washer for exterior of buildings and picking up debris
--Conserves/monitors supplies; checking inventory; requesting needed supplies. Completes daily cleaning checklist.
QUALIFICATIONS
--HS degree or equivalent preferred. Job related experience.
--Minimum six months experience in janitorial, grounds keeper and building/facility small repair duties.
--Must meet hiring qualifications including but not limited to, minimum of 18 years of age, acceptable driving record and background verification in accordance with SRTA standards.
-Negative drug testing - subject to random alcohol and drug testing and Substance Abuse Policy.

JOB DESCRIPTION
This position is responsible for performing a variety of general servicing to maintain the facilities, general ground maintenance, and performing small repairs in accordance with the Authority procedures.
DUTIES
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1.Prepares for daily assignments by receiving daily instructions from management.
2.Complies with safety policies and regulations by using proper safety procedures, wearing personal protective equipment and complying with safety policies and procedures. Completes all safety training as required.
3.Maintains a clean and safe work area by cleaning Authority's facilities, both interior and exterior to include but not limited to cleaning offices and restrooms, sweeping floors, clearing floors and work surfaces of trash and debris, returning working materials and equipment to proper storage area, and cleaning up spills. Assists in grounds maintenance such as planting, watering, weed control and other landscaping duties as required; painting and operating a pressure washer for exterior of buildings, picking up debris and snow removal or other event causes to maintain building accessibility and prevention/clean-up as needed.
4.Assists with setup of tables and chairs for meetings and events. May be required to make small local pickups and deliveries as needed.
5.Completes small repairs to the physical facilities when receives instruction from management. Maintenance responsibilities may include but are not limited to general office maintenance repairs such as leaks, painting, working with outside contractors, property damage repairs and signage. Minor repairs to bus shelters and bus stop signs as needed. Installation of new bus stop signs as needed. Some assembly required for items such as shelving units, office cabinets, etc. May be required to move and lift heavy boxes and objects. Miscellaneous projects as assigned.
6.Conserves and maintains supplies by using equipment and supplies as needed to accomplish job results; monitoring cleaning supplies, checking inventory; anticipating and requesting needed supplies.
7.Documents actions by completing daily cleaning checklist.
8.Maintains high ethical standards by ensuring compliance with safety and required checklists and regulations.
QUALIFICATIONS
Essential knowledge, skills, abilities and experience:
HS degree or equivalent preferred; job related experience preferred.
Minimum six months experience in janitorial, grounds keeper and building/facility small repair duties preferred.
Ability to work independently and with other porters as job task requires.
Ability to interact courteously and effectively with a diverse staff and foster positive work environment.
Ability to follow and communicate both verbally and written in English. Ability to read and
interpret service and instruction manuals
Ability to adhere to DOT and FTA regulations concerning operation of SRTA vehicles, adhere to local traffic regulations, and adherence to safety sensitive position.
Ability to complete record-keeping and written reports.
Knowledge of safe practices and the ability to safely operate fleet vehicles and equipment.
Must have regular attendance and punctuality.
PHYSICALS, CERTIFICATES AND LICENSES REQUIRED:
Possession of a valid PA Driver's License.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT:
The employee performs the duties of this position in predominantly a shop environment.
Individual physical activities include by are not limited to, walking, sitting, standing, reaching above shoulder heights or below the waist; climb stairs; balance; stoop, kneel, crouch and/or crawl. Requires effective hand-to-eye coordination, manual dexterity, and ability to grasp with both hands, twist both wrists, and use both arms to push, pull, hold, and carry items. Ability to work in cramped areas or work in awkward body positions. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds - proper lifting techniques required. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
Work is performed outdoors, in a shop environment, and/or on the street, exposed to normal conditions of a fleet maintenance work environment. Individual is exposed chemicals and fumes. Exposed to hot, cold, wet and /or humid conditions and high noise levels.

Position requires that employee conducts all tasks in a safe and efficient manner complying with all local, state and federal safety and health regulations, programmatic standards, and with any special safety concerns identified by CPTA. The employee must identify and familiarize himself/herself with the Safety and Security Plan and with specific safety and security requirements for his/her working area. Employee must not pose a direct threat or significant risk of substantial harm to the safety or health of himself/herself or others.
