Job description

GENERAL FUNCTIONS:

In collaboration with YMCA of the USA (YUSA), the YMCA Enterprise Shared Services (YESS) organization will create a long-term sustainable shared services model to service participating YMCA Associations. Its goals include enhancing mission achievement, utilizing advanced data analytics and automation, elevating member experience, and enabling YMCA Associations to prioritize mission-focused initiatives over back office administrative responsibilities to promote efficiency and collaboration within the YMCA network.


The YESS Business Development Leader will report to the YESS National Leader to provide leadership and strategy for the successful recruitment of YMCA Associations in selling the service of YESS, resulting in them being onboarded onto all YESS workstreams (Finance, Human Resources, Customer Experience, Risk, and Information Technology). This position will work in partnership with the YESS Migration and with the YESS Functional Leaders and include:

  • Initiate conversations to generate demand for acquiring YESS services through strategic sales initiatives
  • Build strong relationships and act as a liaison between YESS Leadership and YUSA Leadership, Association CEOs, Board Members across the nation
  • Assist the Migrations Leader in the development of migration planning
  • Coordinate communications alongside the Migrations Leader to ensure successful transitions

When recruiting Associations to YESS, YMCA Associations will need to understand the value drawn from joining YESS, which may require future-state cost comparison assessments and data. The Business Development Leader will be accountable for managing relationships with Association Leadership and recruiting enough Associations to create sizeable demand for joining YESS in order to reach its growth targets. This position will also be accountable for developing and leading a team to assist YESS Leadership in reaching these goals. The Business Development Leader is accountable to provide support in successfully leading Business Development efforts and building relationships with YMCA Associations to successfully sell YESS’s mission. The Business Development Leader will have overall accountability for establishing and maintaining a pipeline of YMCA Associations that are interested in transitioning to YESS, while also strategizing lasting connections and relationships, change, and growth initiatives with YMCA Associations and YESS Leadership.

As a member of the YESS Leadership Team, together with the YESS National Leader, the YESS Business Development Leader will manage the transition of Association operations onto YESS shared services operations across the United States, to include:

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

  • 10+ years of experience in a client facing roles in a sales or Business Development capacity
  • 5+ years of YMCA operational experience preferred
  • Experience in successfully selling shared services offerings
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Sales, or related field from an accredited college or university
  • Experience in influencing and building relationships between executive-level leadership
  • Knowledge of and experience in successfully selling ERP solutions (Microsoft Dynamics 365 and UKG experience preferred)
  • Business Development management experience preferred
  • Functional knowledge and ability to communicate the common processes targeted for YESS service offerings
  • Demonstrated excellence in communication skills (written, oral) and executive presence
  • Ability to lead teams to manage strict deadlines
  • Excellent people management and organization skills
  • Strong problem-solving skills

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Establishes and maintains relationships between YESS Leadership and YUSA Leadership, Association CEOs, Board Members to further grow the YESS organization.
  • Provides vision, leadership, and support to YESS Leadership in strategy management and execution.
  • Has executive presence when communicating to develop and maintain trust between C-Level executives across the organization (e.g., relationship management).
  • Ensures continuity of new YMCA Association onboarding groups by attaining acceptance from C-Level executives to join the shared services network.
  • Optimizes growth strategies for Association onboarding plans to achieve the annual Association onboarding quota.
  • Partner with shared services leadership to sustain service operations and establish robust stakeholder management communications and feedback mechanisms.
  • Able to consistently strengthen the incoming onboarding pipeline of YMCA Associations while maintaining connections with current and past onboarding groups.
  • Fosters and maintains positive relationships within Migration Teams and YESS Leadership for project planning and execution.
  • Leads the effort in creative approaches to problem solving and quality deliverables supporting business needs.

This position offers a base salary of $139,200.00 up to $185,600.00. Final salary offering is dependent up on required qualifications, experience, and education for this role.
