The primary function of this position is tomaneuver tractor trailers for the purpose of loading and unloading productswhile providing safety and security for the division yard and dock area. It isfurther required that the above function be completed in a safe and timelymanner and in accordance with Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations.
Thiswill be done by:
Maintain and maneuver equipment on yard prior to dispatch.
Ensure the safe movement of equipment around the yard and warehouse.
Must be willing to work flexible hours.
Maintain equipment while on site.
Drop and hook tractor to trailer.
Inspects truck for defects, before and after trips and submits reportsindicating truck condition.
Responsibilities:
Responsible for the proper, complete, and safe execution of the logistics andother associated activities on the site.
Ability to verify unit initials and numbers accurately.
Maintain a safe pace while spotting and pulling trailers/containers from dockdoors.
Maintain the integrity of trailers and loads by ensuring that cold chaintemperature is adhered to.
Ensure all loads are guarded and sealed.
When carrying out transport and storage activities handle the requirements ofthe quality management system
