Yard Laborer/Mechanic/CDL Driver

Salary: $21.00 - $26 per hour (negotiable depending on experience)

Job Summary:

This position is responsible for driving both commercial and noncommercial vehicles to deliver supplies, equipment and liquid product to job sites during the season and assisting in the cleaning, organization, and maintenance of the company yard as well as perform routine maintenance on company vehicles and equipment.

Responsibilities:

• Operate a commercial vehicle in compliance with FMCSA and company policies
• Delivery of supplies to job sites
• Perform pre- and post-trip vehicle inspections
• Perform routine maintenance and minor repairs on company vehicles and equipment
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of deliveries and vehicle maintenance
• Ensure proper handling and securing of equipment and supplies during transit
• Maintain a clean and organized vehicle and job site
• Maintain a clean and organized yard, including stocking and organizing construction supplies. This includes using the forklift to move, load, unload and store pallets.
• Assist with loading and unloading of construction supplies from company vehicles in addition to helping customers do the same.
• Perform route driving to deliver goods and materials to customers
• Drive Commercial and non commercial vehicles to make deliveries to job sites and between Sage Supply locations
• Perform manual labor tasks as needed, including lifting heavy items (50+ lbs)
• Adhere to all traffic laws and regulations along with company policies and procedures to maximize safety and efficiency
• During HICO and Sealcoat Season required to be on the on-call rotation schedule
• Utilize forklifts to load and unload materials from trucks

Requirements and Experience:

• Valid CDL with a good driving record
• Ability to pass a DOT physical and drug test
• Knowledge of FMCSA and USDOT regulations
• Ability to lift heavy items (50+ pounds) and perform physical labor
• Ability to work independently and in a team environment
• Excellent organizational and time-management skills
• Good communication and customer service skills
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in industrial maintenance or a related field
• Strong mechanical knowledge and ability to perform basic repairs on machinery
• Proficiency in reading and interpreting schematics and technical manuals
• Welding experience is preferred but not required
• Forklift certification/experience a plus
