Olsten Staffing is assisting a leading logistics company in the Florence, SC area in the search for an experienced and eager Yard Jockey. Our commitment to excellence and reliability has earned us a reputation as a trusted partner in the industry. Currently, we are seeking a dedicated and experienced Yard Jockey to join our team and contribute to our continued success.
Position Overview: As a Yard Jockey, you will play a critical role in the safe and efficient movement of trailers and containers within our facility. Your primary responsibility will be to transport trailers to and from designated loading docks, parking areas, and storage locations. You will also assist with general yard maintenance and support other operations as needed. Pay Details: $15.00 per hour

Responsibilities:
- Operate Yard Jockey trucks to move trailers and containers safely and efficiently.
- Transport trailers to and from loading docks, parking areas, and storage locations according to schedules and instructions.
- Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections of Yard Jockey equipment to ensure proper functioning and safety compliance.
- Communicate effectively with warehouse personnel, truck drivers, and supervisors to coordinate trailer movements and prioritize tasks.
- Maintain accurate records of trailer locations, movements, and inspections using electronic tracking systems or paper logs.
- Assist with general yard maintenance tasks, such as cleaning and organizing storage areas, removing debris, and snow removal as needed.
- Follow all safety protocols and procedures, including wearing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) and adhering to traffic rules and regulations.
- Report any equipment malfunctions, safety hazards, or incidents to supervisors promptly.
- Collaborate with team members to support overall operations and meet productivity goals.
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
- Valid CDL
- Previous experience operating Yard Jockey trucks or similar equipment preferred.
- Familiarity with yard operations, trailer spotting, and transportation logistics.
- Ability to maneuver trucks and trailers in tight spaces and navigate safely in a busy yard environment.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with diverse teams.
- Attention to detail and a commitment to safety and compliance.
- Physical stamina and the ability to perform repetitive tasks, including bending, lifting, and climbing in and out of trucks.
- Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
