Yard Driver

Responsibilities:
Skills and Requirements:
Physical Demands/Abilities performed throughout the duration of the work shift:
Heavy Work- Exerting up to 100lbs of force occasionally and/or up to 50lbs of force frequently or up to 20lbs of force constantly to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects, including other job related items.
Walking/Standing for sustained periods of time.
Climbing - Ascending or descending ladders, stairs, scaffolding, ramps, poles, and the like, using entire body
Stooping/Crouching - Bending body downward and forward by bending at the waist, legs, and spine.
Balancing - Maintaining body equilibrium to prevent falling.
Kneeling/Crawling - Bending legs at knee to rest on knee(s) or moving about on hands and knees or hands and feet.
Whole Hand/Fingers - Picking, pinching, typing with fingers and grasping with the fingers and palm.
Repetitive Motion - Substantial movements (motions) of the wrists, hands, and/or fingers.
Talking - Expressing or exchanging ideas by means of the spoken word to others accurately and quickly when necessary.
Hearing - Receiving detailed information through oral communication at normal speaking levels with or without correction.
Vision - Close visual acuity to perform activities such as reading, using measurement devices, viewing electronic devices, assembling, inspecting small parts and/or operating machines and power tools, operate a motor vehicle and determine the accuracy, neatness and thoroughness of work performed.
Work Environment: Work is performed in a shop; both indoors and outdoors. Activities occur inside and outside and are subject to work environments that are not climate controlled, weather, and hot/cold temperature changes, dirt, dust, soot and possibly mold, loud noise, and ladders to use for high heights. Potential hazards such as moving vehicles, proximity to moving mechanical parts, electrical current, high places, high heat, and exposure to chemicals, atmospheric conditions (e.g. fumes, odors, dust, mists, gases), or poor ventilation, or a workspace may be exposed to smoke residue, mold and mildew, contaminated water, or other unsanitary conditions as well as being in closed quarters/confined spaces (e.g. crawl spaces, small, enclosed rooms, attics, etc.)

JOB DESCRIPTION
Yard Driver

Responsibilities:
- Moving semi-trailers around the yard
- Notifying management of trailers needing repairs
- Storing trailers in safe areas
- Conduct regular inspections of incoming and outgoing trailers
- Conducting inventory of trailers on yard
- Perform pre-trips on rental trailers
- Problem solving
- Follow checklists and protocols while performing job
- Regularly clean and maintain vehicle
- Ensure a safe, organized and tidy workspace
- Support coworkers, able to work as part of a team and get along with co-workers
- Follow all health and safety rules and guidelines, as well as common sense safety practices
Skills and Requirements:
- Able to pass drug test/medical physical exam
- Able to pass 10-year background check.
- Valid driver's license (and clear MVR; if applicable).
- Must be able to read and write in English
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent
- Excellent communication skills
