Position: Yard Supervisor

Job Summary: We are seeking a reliable and dedicated Yard Supervisor to oversee our car transportation yard operations. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in supervising outdoor work environments, a keen eye for detail, and exceptional organizational abilities. This role requires someone who is a natural at ensuring compliance with company policies and safety standards while maintaining a high level of operational efficiency.

Location: Port of National City, CA

Key Responsibilities:

• Monitor the loading of trucks, ensuring that all vehicles are handled carefully and efficiently.
• Conduct thorough inspections of outgoing vehicles for any damages, documenting, and reporting findings accurately.
• Manage the search and recovery process for misplaced vehicles within the yard.
• Implement and enforce company policies and safety protocols to maintain a secure and safe working environment.
• Complete and process incident reports and communicate findings to management promptly.
• Collaborate effectively with drivers and staff, providing clear instructions and support as needed.
• Utilize problem-solving skills to address operational challenges and make decisions that align with company objectives.
• Supervise the yard schedule from 6 AM to 3 PM.
• Deliver exceptional customer service, maintaining professionalism in all interactions and swiftly addressing any concerns that arise.

• While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to sit/stand for most of his/her job duties.  There is the need to walk frequently.  There will be a moderate amount of standing, stooping, kneeling, bending, lifting, and reaching for some of his/her job duties.

• Comfortable working outdoors in various weather conditions.
• Visual requirements include reading off a computer screen as well as printed materials.   A high degree of dexterity is required due to frequent use of a cell phone.

• Verbal and auditory requirements include the ability to communicate clearly over the telephone as well as in person.

Skills and Qualifications:

• Proficiency with technology such as computers, scanners, tablets, printers, and smartphones is essential.
• Strong attention to detail and the ability to multitask effectively.
• Excellent people skills with an emphasis on teamwork and communication.
• Previous supervisory experience is desirable, showcasing the ability to lead and manage a team.

Compensation: $25 / hour

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $25.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 – 50 per week
