Yard Associate

Position Summary

Apache Stone, an Outdoor Living Supply company located in Phoenix, AZ, is looking for a full-time Yard Associate. This full-time position is for someone who enjoys working outside, helping customers, loading trucks and managing inventory in a working retail yard. The right candidate will have the ability to work outside operating small front-end loaders, forklifts and loading equipment and inside/outside assisting customers with product section, processing orders, and providing support to the customer service team when needed. This position offers a competitive hourly wage depending on qualifications and experience, and a full benefits program with PTO and paid holidays

Primary Responsibilities

• Loads and unloads the truck per the delivery schedule
• Organizes and cleans warehouse and landscape supply yard
• Ensures that all materials are properly identified, packaged, and labeled
• Examines materials visually to ensure conformance to established standards
• Cleans and maintains supplies, tools, equipment, and warehouse
• Organizes, plans, and prioritizes daily work
• Uses equipment and machinery to move product around the yard
• Troubleshoots equipment and processing issues
• Responsible for making minor tunings of machinery as needed
• Completes all necessary documentation at the end of shift
• Assisting customers daily
• Supports the vision, mission, and guiding principles of the company
• Operates within company policy and submits reports as requested
• Responsible for safety and health of self and others
• Handle returns of merchandise
• Communicate via radio
• Other duties as assigned

Minimum Job Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Forklift and equipment operation experience is a plus
• Proficiency in English
• Bi-lingual, Spanish speaking strongly preferred
• Basic Math skills
• Familiarity with inventory procedures
• Solid communication and interpersonal skills
• Must be 18 years of age

Other Skills and Abilities

Physical Demands:

• Ability to routinely lift 80 lbs. without assistance
• Ability to lift greater than 80 lbs. in team lifts
• Standing/walking continuously
• Stooping/bending often

Work Environment:

This position primarily works outdoors in the yard and are exposed to the elements. Conditions can be dusty due to the product we sell.
