Lindale Specialty Care Center is currently looking for a skilled Treatment /Wound Care Nurse to become a part of our facility's growing compassionate care-giving team. The Treatment /Wound Care Nurse will be responsible for the assessment and follow up of each resident's need for and result of treatments provided in the facility or a designated area of the facility. The Treatment /Wound Care Nurse communicates with the other Licensed Staff of the facility in assessing needs and results of staff action to assure residents do not decrease their functional abilities such as; obtain skin breakdown, contractures, weight loss, skin tears and so forth while in the facility. Assists the facility team to provide education, assessment and appropriate infection control programs. Works with the facility as team member to assure treatments are coordinated with other events of the day. Assists the Nursing Department to assure residents care plans are followed. Documents on records as per policy and procedures of the facility. Participates in staff meetings and in-services as required. We are searching for a dedicated, compassionate and energetic individual to be a vital link between our patients and the nurses and other facility staff.
Our candidate must possess:
- Knowledge and understanding of nursing and patient care standards and procedures.
- Knowledge of laws, rules and regulations; standards and guidelines of certifying and accrediting bodies; nursing home and department/unit standards, protocols, policies and procedures governing the provision of nursing care applicable to the area of assignment.
- Knowledge of medical terminology; principles and practices of health promotion, risk reduction, illness and disease prevention and management; medications and drugs, common dosages, their physical and physiological effects, and possible adverse reactions.
- Knowledge of medical and professional nursing ethics and patient privacy rights.
- Must be able to communicate thoughts clearly, both verbally and in writing.
- Interpersonal skills to interact with a wide-range of constituencies.
- Must have critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to observe changes in the medical condition of patients and effectively communicate these changes to other nursing staff members and physicians/providers.
- Ability to provide age-specific, quality, patient-centered care to all patients through the nursing process and standards of nursing practice with sensitivity and respect for the diversity of human experience and to develop, evaluate, implement and, as necessary, modify a patient care plan to meet the needs of individual patients.
