Form of workUnder the general direction of the Chief, Office of Statewide Project Management Improvement, a Supervising Transportation Engineer, the incumbent, as a nonsupervisory staff specialist in a difficult and sensitive program development, leads the establishment of Capital transportation project Workplan Data Quality performance metrics and subsequently coordinates the development and deployment of processes, tools, and reporting relating to comparing actual Data Quality performance against those metrics. The incumbent provides leadership to the districts in championing improved Data Quality and the sensitive presentation of district performance relating to Data Quality. The metrics will be based upon standards of practice and policies developed by the Division - and the incumbent is responsible for updating both as they relate to Data Quality performance metrics. The incumbent conceives and designs the related reporting, but others perform the technical development of the reports under the direction of the incumbent.

This position may be eligible for telework. The amount of telework is at the discretion of the Department and based on Caltrans's evolving telework policy. The selected candidate will be required to commute to the headquartered location as needed to meet operational needs. Business travel may be required and reimbursement considers an employee's designated headquartered location, primary residence, and may be subject to CalHR regulations or applicable bargaining unit contract provisions. All commute expenses to the headquartered location will be the responsibility of the selected candidate.

Working Conditions
Position located in Sacramento County
While at their base of operation, employees will work in a climate-controlled office under artificial light. However, due to periodic problems with the heating and air conditioning, the building temperature may fluctuate.
