POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES
Note: All official drafts, documents, and recommendations, as listed below, must be reviewed, finalized, and approved / accepted by appropriate BPA manager or other federal personnel with the authority to do so.
Plan, design, and closeout completed work in accordance with standard policies and procedures, including using BPA automated systems (e.g., MicroStation design tool, ProjectWise, Bentley Facilities Planner, Workflow Connection, and furniture inventory).
Perform periodic self-audits of processes and training/organization milestones and make recommendations to ensure that goals and timelines are being closely monitored and achieved.
Provide primary coordination and serve as a point-of-contact for the Space Management team. Provide interim program guidance in the absence of primary program managers.
Facilitate various space management projects and initiatives in support of the program, service delivery, and process improvements. Facilitation may be as a project team member, subject matter resource, or project coordinator, etc.
Provide, track, and assess training and assistance to other Space Management staff on move, CAD and drawing processes and systems.
Provide CAD support services, to include:
Provide Bentley Facilities Planner support:
Import data into Bentley Facilities Planner.
Manual data entry of employee, workspace, etc. data.
Update personnel locations as move requests are completed.
Import ergonomic information into records system
Review electronic plan models and redline drawings from BPA Space Management staff and contract Design firm representatives; work with the CAD Technician to have models incorporated into the electronic MicroStation drawings within Bentley software systems. Resolve issues with drawings and make corrections as needed including incorporating furniture cells into existing plans.
Produce plots from MicroStation and Bentley Facilities Planner at requested size and scale, and/or work with other Space Management staff / CAD technicians to get this work done.
Prepare and provide drawing files to the contract Design firm for use in completing design projects, and/or work with other Space Management staff / CAD technicians to facilitate work completion.
Utilize various systems employed by BPA including Bentley software (e.g. MicroStation, Facilities Planner, ProjectWise, SharePoint, Visio), service request systems, and furniture inventory systems, to retrieve 'real time' information that is up to date and disseminated via high level reporting across various organizations within the BPA community.
Support maintenance of MicroStation drawings by performing quality reviews and troubleshooting issues. Work with the CAD support team on technical matters requiring a high level of expertise.
Facilitate CAD drafting variance reviews and versioning oversight in order to create and update accurate CAD drawings of facilities.
Provide documentation issuance or updates of official design files in ProjectWise. Additionally, coordinate with Facilities, Projects and Planning and Field Operations within BPA to ensure appropriate files are published as official records.
REQUIREMENTS
Education & Corresponding Experience (required on matrix)
High school diploma or equivalent.
Associate Degree in CAD and Drafting Technologies or interior design with CAD-related college coursework is preferred.
Minimum Experience Requirements: This is a Level 3 Position - 10 years directly related experience. Experience should include proven skills in space planning, design and coordination of day-to-day individual office moves, small space reconfigurations or small group moves. Required experience should also include:
Experience in office space design drafting and plotting using CAD tools/systems.
Experience working with floor plans; ability to create proposed workstation/workspace layouts and to discuss space layouts with clients.
Required Technical Skills & Experience (required on matrix)
Knowledge of drawing/CAD standards, building codes (e.g. fire/life safety, path of egress, ADA, etc.) as it relates to space plans and design
Specialized experience working with Bentley systems (MicroStation, Planner) move process systems or similar workplace management systems.
Preferred Skills & Experience (optional on matrix)
Experience working with MicroStation design tool, ProjectWise, Bentley Facilities Planner, or similar business process flow systems.
Proficiency in automated data systems to include SharePoint and Visio and a high degree of efficiency in technical dynamics of software output.

Valid U.S. Driver's License is required.
