POSITION TITLE

Test Monitor Assistant

 

APPOINTMENT

Appointed by the Chancellor of the College upon the recommendation of the Vice Chancellor of Strategic Initiatives & External Affairs

 

LINE AND STAFF RELATIONSHIPS

The Testing Monitor Assistant is a part-time staff position that reports to the Assessment Center Coordinator. The Testing Monitor assists the Assessment Center and Workforce Department with daily tasks and will collaborate with other RPCC Testing Proctors, Career Associates, the Assessment Center Coordinator, the Executive Director of Workforce, and other college personnel.

 

GENERAL POSITION SUMMARY

The Testing Monitor is responsible for assisting the Assessment Center in data entry, proctoring, and coordinating assessment and testing services and activities provided for internal and external customers at all our campuses and off-site testing projects.

 

PRINCIPAL DUTIES, RESPONSIBILITIES AND AUTHORITY

 

•          Maintain and improve Assessment and Career Centers at all campuses.

•          Ensure compliance with policies, standards, practices, and philosophies of the college, LCTCS, local, state, federal, and associated agencies and organizations.

•          Responsible for verifying the identity and eligibility of each testing candidate.

•          Responsible for strict security and precise inventory of testing materials.

•          Responsible for managing and handling chain of custody of paper-based, computer-based, and home-based tests.

•          Performs other related duties as assigned.

•          Maintain and grow partnerships among our local business and industry partners, students, alumni, faculty and staff, and our River Region community.

•          Be prepared to travel to ALL RPCC locations to perform designated tasks.

•          Assist in data entry for Assessment and Career Centers

 

PRINCIPAL DUTIES, RESPONSIBILITIES AND AUTHORITY

 

•          Secure logins, passwords, and access to online testing systems as required.

•          Monitor the testing room to maintain security and proper conduct.

•          Work with vendors' technical support over the phone to resolve IT problems that are outside the assessment center or local IT control.

•          Maintain equipment and technology to appropriate operational status.

•          Prepare and submit reports as required by the Assessment Center and Workforce Department and external entities.

•          Maintain the overall quality of the testing program by attending and participating in training sessions as required by the campus, college, and/or state.

•          Promote and maintain current Assessment Center information on the RPCC website, such as schedule & and location.

•          Be prepared to travel to ALL RPCC locations to perform designated tasks.

 

Provide Excellent Customer Service to Internal and External Customers, Clients and Students

•             Serve internal customers, students, and clients.

•             Serve external customers such as professional associations, testing service partners, and customized assessments project clients.

•             Anticipate opportunities and initiate proposals to offer assessment services for our students, industry partners, clients, professional associations, school districts, and communities. Such partnerships are to be in alignment and support with the Vice Chancellor for Workforce Development and the Director of Career Success.

•             Refer students to appropriate services, departments, and/or agencies.

•             Execute on planned service expansion plans and monitor implementation progress.

•             Work with the Workforce Development Team to implement assessment contracts.

•             Meet with potential business partners to assist with fair negotiations for assessment center services.

 

Develop and Supervise the RPCC Assessment Center Support Associate

•             Provide ongoing monitoring, observation, feedback, and mentoring to all Assessment Center Associate (full-time and part-time)

•             Accountable for all Assessment Center locations.

•             Ensure all actions are professionally and ethically performed within LCTCS/RPCC code of conduct, policies, and performance expectations.

•             Collaborate with other departments and faculty on external assessment processes as well as recruitment, marketing, admissions, orientation, scheduling, special services, credentialing, and all methods to support the needs of students, clients and the mission of RPCC.

•             Foster an organizational culture that supports collegiality, personal well-being and professional development of students, faculty, and staff.

•             Facilitate, proctor, administer, interpret tests and provide information relative to students based on test scores.

•             Maintain all documentation and records of testing entities in accordance with the policy and procedures of the testing entities.

•             Adhere to ALL testing guidelines set forth by the State of Louisiana.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

•             High School Diploma (mandatory)

•             Bachelor's Degree and/or Associate's Degree preferred

•             Experience in higher education, assessment center operations, and/or test proctoring preferred

•             2 to 5 years of Professional Business experience preferred

•             Position held in a post-secondary institution preferred REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ATTITUDE:

SALARY RANGE: $15 hour
