The salary for this positions is:
$26.94 - $39.32 Hourly
$2,154.92 - $3,145.85 Biweekly
$4,669.00 - $6,816.00 Monthly
$56,028.00 - $81,792.00 Annually
Workforce Development Programs (WDP) exists to design, develop, and administer workforce related programs in support of the Colorado Workforce System. WDP is responsible for utilizing state and federal funding to administer programs through partnerships with the 10 federally recognized Local Workforce Areas, non-profit/for- profit organizations, community based organizations (CBO), other Colorado state agencies that may include the Colorado Department of Education (CDE), the Colorado Department of Higher Education (CDHE), the Colorado Department of Human Services (CDHS), and the Colorado Department of Corrections (CDOC). WDP also collaborates with various public and private partners to administer workforce related services that may include program administration, budget tracking, developing policy and guidance, program monitoring, marketing and outreach, and technical assistance. WDP provides program administration that supports employers and job seekers throughout Colorado through the implementation and oversight of service delivery across the state.
This position performs intermediate level grant specialist duties in support of various Worker Program Unit (WPU) employment program activities. Position is primarily responsible for supporting the Migrant Seasonal Farmworker (MSFW) program by performing grant specialist tasks required to administer the program. Specific duties related to the MSFW program include annual compliance monitoring of designated offices related to all aspects of the program. Monitoring includes review for compliance with all applicable state and federal rules and regulations related to the MSFW program. Specific monitoring duties include review of applications, job orders, reports, outreach plans, outreach logs, complaint files, observation of facilities, posters, and job information services. This position completes various aspects of the monitoring review in support of the State Monitor Advocate who serves as the staff authority for the MSFW program. Program monitoring also includes interviewing of local area front line staff, office managers, supervisors, agricultural employers and service providers for knowledge of the program. This position will also perform grant specialist tasks for other Worker Program Unit initiatives that may include preparing and providing program training, providing technical assistance, reviewing and processing invoices for payments, and writing or contributing to reports on WPU activities to various stakeholders and workforce system partners.
This position is classified as a Labor/Employment Specialist IISubstitutions:
Additional appropriate experience will substitute for the degree requirement on a year-for-year basis.
Additional appropriate education will substitute for the required experience on a year-for-year basis.
Education and Experience:
Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in a field of study related to the work assignment.
AND
Two years of professional experience working with migrant seasonal farm workers at city, state, or other community development or government program levels, grants administration, workforce development programs or workforce centers, and/or program monitoring.

Conditions of Employment:

  • This position is required to read, write, and speak English and Spanish fluently
  • This position requires travel to remote areas of the state where public transportation is not accessible and may require overnight stays
  • Must be a Colorado resident at time of application.
