Job Summary:

The Work Supervisor is responsible to train, supervise, and work along with program participants workers in assigned work settings.

 

Essential Functions:

Responsible for:

  • Supervise and provide hands on training and development to program participants providing custodial tasks to Federal, commercial and/or private buildings.
  • Development of program participants work attitude by providing appropriate role modeling.
  • Implement components of each program participants Individual Service Plan as assigned by their case manager.
  • Write reports for input into program participants programming.
  • Track assigned program participants weekly work hours and submit payroll sheets to project manager.
  • Conduct monthly time studies for assigned program participants to ensure compliance with the Department of Labor.  
  • Complete all janitorial work according to the contracts statement of work, quality control standards and WORK Inc.’s operating procedures.
  • Measure program participants work progress, along with required production reports.
  • Provide quality control checks of work performed in assigned areas and according to the contracts statement of work.
  • Meet regularly with case management and as requested attend other meetings to discuss program participants programming.
  • Maintain work according to the contracts statement of work and in an efficient, clean, and safe manner.
  • Efficient and proper use and maintenance of assigned equipment and supplies.
  • Transport program participants to and from work sites, as assigned.
  • Ensure a safe working environment for employees, program participants and customers.
  • Establish and maintain excellent working relationships with tenants and building management personnel.
  • Effective communication with WORK Inc. supervisors, case managers, program participants and building customers.
  • Removal of snow and ice from around the building (During normal work schedule and outside normal work schedule)
  • Use shovels, ice choppers, snow blowers or snow brooms to remove snow from sidewalks, stairs, parking lots, driveways and ramps.
  • Use spreaders to place ice melt, salt and/or sand on sidewalks, stairs, parking lots, driveways and ramps.
  • Landscaping services (site specific)
  • Use various landscaping tools and equipment for the completion of all landscaping and grounds maintenance services according to the contracts statement of work, quality control standards and WORK Inc.’s operating procedures

Qualifications
  • High School Diploma/G.E.D.
  • Two years janitorial experience and willingness to learn to work with individuals with disabilities.
  • Ability to follow detailed work schedule
  • Must be flexible and be able to work as part of a team, willing to work hours/shifts of the industry.
  • Requires acceptable results of CORI check according to agency policy
  • Drivers license as applicable.

 
Mathematical Skills:

  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide

 
Reasoning Ability:

  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions.


 
Communication Demands:

  • The ability to read, analyze and interpret journals, financial reports and legal documents.
  • The ability to respond to common inquiries of complaints.
  •  The ability to effectively present information to the WORK Inc. Executive Team, Board of Directors, employees, program participants and members of the business community.


 
Environmental Demands:

Due to the nature and requirements of the job at times there may be an exposure to the following conditions: An ability to work out doors for long periods of time daily in all types of weather is an essential requirement of the job.

  • Good standing balance, defined as the ability to stand and walk without a loss of balance.
  • Full upper extremity range of motion defined as the ability to obtain:
  • Full shoulder flexion, extension, abduction, and rotation.
  • Full elbow flexion, extension, supination and pronation.
  • Full wrist flexion, extension, radial and ulnar deviation.
  • Normal upper extremity strength defined as the ability to move the specified body part through a full range of motion against maximum resistance.
  • Full lower extremity range of motion defined as the ability to obtain:
  • Full hip flexion, extension, abduction, adduction and rotation.
  • Full knee flexion and extension.
  • Full ankle flexion and extension.
  • Normal lower extremity strength defined as the ability to move the specified body part through a full range of motion against maximum resistance.
  • Full trunk range of motion as defined by the ability to obtain full flexion and extension, rotation and side bending.
  • Full cervical range of motion as defined by the ability to obtain full flexion and extension, lateral flexion and rotation.
