Form of workSUMMARY
Prepares various type of wire for use in harness assemblies and creates Wire Harness for use in final assembly of product.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following.
- Ability to read and follow Wire Harness assembly instructions
- Ability to gather materials and tooling necessary to perform work in an organized manner
- Routes and ties wires to form Wire Harness used in electrical and electronic equipment or systems: Reads instructions, such as work orders, diagrams, and wire lists to determine materials needed and sequence of assembly.
- Numerous hand assembly operations based on detailed instructions
- Utilize electrical assembly hand tools.
- Conducts functional and continuity tests of Wire Harnesses and cable assemblies using test fixtures
- Use of a solder iron to solder wires to switches or connectors
- Perform visual and dimensional inspections of in-process assemblies and finished products
- Wire harness assembly experience highly preferred
- Wraps and ties wires together at designated points to form harness manually.
- Selects wires of specified color, marking, or length, and loops wires between guide pegs on harness board, following color-coded lines or sequential numbers on board or diagram.
- Maintain a clean, safe and healthy work area.
- Other duties may be assigned.

SKILLS AND ABILITIES
- Has assembly/production experience and a strong mechanical aptitude
- Attention to detail, excellent hand dexterity
- Proficient in basic math skills
- Ability to read and interpret blue prints, engineering drawing and technical publications required.
- Familiarity with various pieces of ground support and test equipment desired.
- The ability to understand and follow instructions and the ability to concentrate is required.
- Excellent written, verbal, communication and interpersonal skills.
- The ability to get along with others or to be part of a team.
- Access to Export Control Information.
- Regular attendance at the worksite.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
- This job requires a minimum of high school education or general education degree (GED) and 3 to 5 years work-related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
