Description
The Winter Food & Beverage Lead Cook position prepares and cooks a variety of menu items for guests to enjoy while at Bogus Basin during the winter operational season.
Essential Functions of the Job
- Accurately and efficiently prepare and cook menu items.
- Abide by rules and regulations of local and federal health codes, as well as those of Bogus Basin
- Maintain a clean work area and assist with cleaning other areas of the Food and Beverage department.
- Maintain a professional attitude towards guests and staff.
- Assist guests with any questions or problems that they may have, if unable to provide assistance, seek help of supervisor and/or manager.
- Promote safety by following safe practices and reporting any unsafe conditions or situations while on premise.
- Report to management issue dealing with production levels, staff issues, and safety regarding food and equipment.
- Understand staff levels needed to ensure quick, friendly, and safe service.
- Make sure kitchen is ready for service at opening and finished correctly at closing time.
- Assign daily, weekly, and monthly clear lists ensuring they are followed correctly.
Non-Essential Functions of the Job
- Perform other related tasks, as necessary.
Requirements
- Cooking and or restaurant knowledge and experience helpful.
- Strong customer service skills.
- Employee is frequently required to reach and/or balance with arms and hands, and to walk and/or stand for lengthy periods of time.
- Manual dexterity required to handle kitchen utensils.
- Employee is occasionally required to stoop, kneel, or crouch.
- Employee will occasionally lift, move and/or support 35 lbs.
- Ability to work as part of a team.
- Ability to work mid-October through mid-May.
Working Conditions
- Restaurant environment; both indoors and outdoors.
- May be exposed to inclement weather.
