The candidate will educate visitors about our vineyard and winery while promoting sales and club memberships while consistently promoting the brand. Essential Functions & Duties:
- Lead customers through the tasting experience while anticipating the customer’s needs and providing a superior experience
- Develop and maintain positive, professional relationships with BBV customers
- Conduct winery tours in a professional and engaging manner (when assigned)
- Ability to appropriately and effectively promote and sell wine and convert wine sales into wine club memberships
- Actively continue education in wine production, viticulture, and winery history
- Stock wine, merchandise and supplies in Tasting Room
- Keep Tasting Room and customer areas clean including bathrooms and barrel room
- Assist with all winery events including setup and break down
- Understand basic computer skills with the ability to operate our POS system – maintaining records, shipping orders, sales management, inventory and wine club
- Understand basic cash handling and reconciliations
- Perform effective email and telephone communication with customers
- Represent the winery at outside events and tastings (when applicable)
- Deliver responsible wine service guidelines and follow regulations in regards to serving alcohol
- Perform daily setup and clean up as well as maintaining the cleanliness of the Tasting Room throughout the day
- Other duties as assigned
Skills & Requirements:
- 1-2+ years of hospitality experience is preferred, but not required
- You must love people and have an interest in wine and learning
- Must be able to work weekends, evenings and some holidays
- Demonstrate professionalism and responsibility while having fun
- Being a team player is required
- Must be able to lift 50 pounds regularly
- Must be able to stand and walk for long periods of time
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $15.00 per hour
Expected hours: 8 – 24 per week
